resistor for mxic

Can i use a 22k resistor for unlocking one of these ? It`s all i got at the min and it seems that i can use 10 - 20 but just wondered if i can use slightly over 20 without messing it up .

First time i`ve had to unlock a slim so best to ask before trying imo.

Will go to maplins if need be but its cold out there ..lmao .

22kohm is 22,000 ohms.

you need a 20 ohm resistor.

You're not just *slightly* over.

get a couple of 10 ohms. At least you can make a 10 or 20 ohm connection as it'll be either or (join them in series).

Be sure to get a 10 ohm resistor in case the 20 ohm resistor doesn't work

looking at the maplin site they dont look like they stock anything that small . They have 7 watt wire wound 10R resistors , is that going to be ok ?

7 watts is far too high.

EDIT: M10R should do you fine. (0.6W)

if you're not in a rush then get them off ebay. 100 for £1.25 while best deal I had from maplins was 10 for £1.00.

lol ...no worries mate. i have 20 x 10ohm so i`m all good thanks again folks (p.s. i love living 1/2 mile from maplins...still fecking freezing tho ..lol )
