Restore eeprom from X3 chip--

I had a working 1.6 xbox with the x3 chip, that is until I started messing around with things I shouldnt have. Anyway, I apparently replaced the onboard eeprom, or deleted altogether, with something that it doesnt like.

When I press the power on I get the red color on my switch panel for a few seconds, and then it goes on to the blue color but nothing comes on the screen. The dvd rom does not eject, and the xbox light pulses green.

I have found that I can get at least the Flashbios to come up by enabling my backup switches. I have an the original eeprom from this box on a computer hooked up to it as well. Is there anyway that I could restore this 256 bin file to the xbox?

In final, I noticed that the x3 features included automatic backup of eeprom on first boot. Could/how can I recover the eeprom from the x3 switch if I can only boot the box into Flashbios?

thanks in advance, the dude

Thanks for the follow up. I've been working now on a way to restore my eeprom onto my 1.6 xbox by embedding it into the bios of the chip itself. From what I understand I should be able to do this with evTool with the evoxm8_16 bios, enlarged to 1024 K.

I cannot get into the x3 bios, start the xbox normally, etc. In fact, the only thing that I can currently do is boot the box into the Cromwell Flashbios off of the final banks on the chip.

Do you think the x3 will take to the m8 bios? I plan on flashing the chip again with the x3 bios immediately after embedding the eeprom into my box again.

I've deduced that this problem came from my replacing a 1.6 eeprom with an earlier xbox version eeprom, NOT cool!

Appreciate the help - - the dude

***UPDATE***

Alright, I managed to get the x3 chip to flash with the evoxm8_16 bios along with an embeded eeprom. Good news is that I have flubber back... the bad news is that now I'm getting an xbox error code 16.

Reading around I've learned that this is something to do with the dashboard, but nobody seems to be saying what exactly. Anybody else have experience with this error?

***FINISHED***

Looks like I turned this post into an online journal now... Anyway, i thought Id say that I bypassed the "error code 16" by using an AvaLaunch Autoinstall disc (I assume that using Slayers would have worked as well) to get the dashboards all setup because the embeded bios I put on my X3 chip did function.

I would have liked to put the x3 bios back on there because it was loaded with so many features, but I wont be able to do that because adding the backup eeprom to the 1.6 x3 bios causes the xbox to frag. Till I find out how to bind an eeprom to the bios I'll just have to stick with the evoxM8_16 modded bios.

Perhaps if someone else ever runs into a problem with copying a bad eeprom over their good one they will find this of some use. Feel free to PM me if you have a related issue.

LT+ from LT1.1 quick question Lite ON

After reading JT tut I have one question, I went from ixteme 1.61 to LT1.1 and still have my dummy.bin from 1.61, can I just use this dummy.bin on LT+ and erase and flash ? save trying to reobtain keys ect ?

Yes - load it as source and let latest jf (1.7.6) autoload LT+ for you
then as you say
erase, write!

Re: LT+ from LT1.1 quick question Lite ON

Word of the (now) wise, back your keys up! I did a format on my PC thinking my LiteOn keys were on my network drive. Thus they were not. Yesterday was a sad day for me. But at least I can still dump keys using the MRA hack.
