Restoring a pad....?

One of the copper circles that I need to use in order to rebuild a trace has just gone. While I was tinning the points itself (15W iron) so that I could solder the wire to it, it just isn't there anymore.

Theres now a black smudge over it....??? Is this part of the solder's rosin core? I know I couldn't have burned it away, I had it on there for about four seconds.....

Would rubbing the area with rubbing alcohol re-expose it, or do I have to rebuild it somehow?

Luckily, no its not the d0. I need to rebuild the traces above and below the d0. I was going to do this by putting wire between the two terminal points like most tutorials say to, but one of my points really isn't there.....

How can I repair this pad? A picture would help a lot.

THanks.

ok, just found out that my cam doesn't do well on extreme close ups so there's no pic...
so I'll try my best with words..

the problem I had was that my pad for the d0 was gone, I heated the thing to much so it came of...
and if that wasn't bad enough, a small piece of the strip it was atached to was also gone..

so i had to fix the connection
i got a fine barn paper to scrub the plastic of the copper wire
the image show in red where i did it

after that i used the smallest wire i could possible find and solded it to the scrubed wire.
i dont have the most steady hand in the world so i knew i would screw up so i placed a tiny piece of ductape just paralel on both sides.
taped the wire so that it doesn't move and then start the solding..

i was kinda nervous doing it but after i saw the box boot instead of fraging i was so goddamm pleased that it worked!

Uh, when you say you scraped the wire, do you mean the wire on the board, or the wire that you used to bridge the connection...?

Also, the point I, uh made go away, is on the end, so I can't really place anything over it....What can I do?

Just one more thing....your image doesn't display. I don't think its a Mozilla problem only ( my browser), I tried it in IE and it didn't display either.

Thanks.
