ok i have the hitachi 78 drive and i want to take the firmware off of it since its the older version firmware i think xtreme 5.2 cause thats the one on my toshibia which is banned. Anyways this 360 is updated with the spring update and then it hasnt been online since and i want to no how to take the firmware off of it and restore the original so that it can go back online thnks

it cant be 5.2 as this is a sumsung fw, to restore the 78: Load the original.bin (your original fw-) , Tools > Direct Drive Flash > Differential Flash (RESTORE)
but should i like use a certain way to power up the dvd cause ive heard that they monitor that in the cache even if its offline?
1) Put the DVD Drive in ModeB w/ slax
2) Boot into Windows
3) Run Firmware toolbox 4.0
4) Open Orig.bin w/ firmware toolbox 4.0
5) Go to diff flash / Restore
Then it should be done ;-)
Tho why not use iXtreme 1.2v2 its workin grand for me on my 78FK
Also I don't really think they montior the way the DVD Drive has been powered on w/o a SATA from the 360 going to it even offline, I think it's more likly a Firmware timing / responding scheme..

Well its banned I unmodded it earlier today and yeah tried all my game backups and none of them worked and I tried them in my modded console to make sure they worked, so the restore was successful went on to live just now and hey it cant connect its banned. Well so much for that 2 xboxs banned thnks M$
PS i own all the gameback ups ive made, also why dont they just make it like the xbox where u couldnt play backups online, i would have no problem with that as long as i have a backup of my game i paid 60 bucks for, also anyone see their pay 20bucks get ur game replaced what a joke

MM Why'd it be banned? Did you actually flash a wrong key to it? It hasn't been online since you flashed the orig.bin back right?

Grab the 1.2v2 iXtreme and fw and open it with fw toolbox and copy keys from your orig.bin then flash ;-)
