Just a quick question as I couldn't find any specific info by searching. I have a Jasper with a rev C. The console instaboots every time. If it has retail image written to it instead of a hacked image is that to be expected? In other words as long as the coolrunner isnt attempting to boot a hacked image and is only written with a retail image should I see instant boot times as opposed to the generally longer boot times accosiated with a hacked image?

of course the console will boot instant with retail now as far as hack image it depends on the chip and the method to get instant - to 3cycles always , theres plenty of guides on the hack and I suggest u get a cr4, but if u insist on using that rev c heres wire guide and if u run into problems u will have to post pics of chip, and install and fillout template http://team-xecuter.com/forums/threads/86539-Xecuter-CoolRunner-Rev-C-Phat-Wire-Install-Guide

Actually if your coolrunner is completely installed and programmed your console should be red ringing on the retail NAND.

Let me clear this up definitively.
Whether or not your console will glitch into a retail NAND depends on what dashboard the console is on.
1. If the console is below the 15574 dashboard, the console has the ability to glitch into a retail NAND, should the glitch be successful at any point. However, if you don't get a successful glitch within 6 tries, you get red ring.
2. Dashboard 15574 and above, MS removed the ability for slowdown. If you try to glitch retail at 15574 or higher, the console will simply freeze. It won't boot, it won't red ring. Just sits there.
