Anybody know of a good, proven rework station that is good for reballs and reflows. I need one that provides even airflow when it comes to reflowing the gpu with the 4141 nozzle. Mine provides uneven airflow. How do i know you ask well i've attempted a reflow with the thermcouple underneath the gpu and i have to raise the temp. on the rework station up to 314C sometimes 400C but that popcorns the gpu which forces me to do a reball. What im trying to say is does anyone know of a good, proven rework station that provides even airflow. Mines a yihua 8508D. Only people that have a proven rework station reply. Thanks in advance.

have a good read through here budy i have just purchased a achi ir6000 from karl i think they are one of the best or the achi pro but there are many of them to choose from , popcorning from what i have learnt can be caused by many things like temp too hot , check your thermocouple is reading correctly , moisture in the board can cause it read this budy

The Atten AT860D is a beast of a rework station.
Near perfect airflow with a double netted nozzle when I was doing reflowing and reballing.
Brilliant build quality and a overall great rework station

The atten 858d+ was my first rework station which is a good bit cheaper,
It also has near perfect airflow.
If you have the money go for the AT860D

Also you must make sure that you have your nozzle secured square to your rework station and that your nozzle and rework station are secure and square to the chip your working on.

Another thing to look at is to make sure your BGA nozzle is flat and perfectly square,
I once had one that was not made properly and it sat into my rework station lopsided throwing the air off and making it uneven.

Also the thermocouple dosent go underneath the GPU it goes on top of the board at the side of the gpu touching the board and chip at the same time.
On my profile when I was doing rework the rework station rarely had to be set above 300

You need to decide which REWORK STATION you need for the work you are doing
Atten, Yihua etc; are SMD rework stations
Scotle, LY, ACHI, Honton, TBRM, Mancrop ec; are BGA rework stations

Many use heat guns and tiny air stations to perform BGA rework and while it sometimes works the results are iffy and longevity is of course reduced

If you are doing BGA reworking for customers i would advise using a proper station

These are all companies that make actual BGA machines

The IR6000 is a terrible machine as far as quality goes, is it popular WHY YES IT IS and that is simply because of the cost

Personally i use a ZX360 fully automated machine, but i started out the same way you guys are by making mistakes and eventually learning

Nowhere
the best machine i have worked with to date is my scotle ir pro sc v4,but i upgraded the plates all round with elstein plates, and it heats more evenly than anything ive seen used to date.ofc thats ir not hot air.
