Was gonna try my first RGH 2.0 today but no luck so far

programmed coolrunner both with JED + impact and Jrunner + jtag lpt cable

Generated ECC with build.py and Jrunner and still all i get is the power led

I can assure its no solder problem, im the one who did the guide on how to fix RGH screwed points so its not like am a first time sailor

But if its required i will take some pics no problem

Its a Jasper BB CB6753

64mb dump without any bad block etc

The last thing i will do to make sure its not the chip itself is program it RGH 1.0 jasper and use it on my own jasper (currently with the first coolrunner xing ling ebay board)

Any more ideas?

Thanks in advance

Just to check - you are removing the cap and adding the 10ohm resistor?
Removed the cap, and tried with and without the resistor using a wirewrap and with a UF shilded cable

The thing is, i think the chip was supposed to blink (green) even withou the resistor (it would not glitch probably but would blink)

Some pics in case its required or something:

Whitch Jed you used to programmed the CR(the CR always blinks green when you use all Jed's)?

Did you tried another CR?

Tried only with A file... wasnt the led supposed to blink with every file? I though that you had to change to other files (B, C and D) in case it didnt glitch, but the led should always blink (every 5~6 seconds) cause of the ECC right?

Should do yes.

Thing is a non-blinking CR would hint towards a problem with stnby_clk, but I ain't gonna call you out on your soldering - you're resume speaks for itself :) but really that would be my advice to anyone else - maybe desolder the B point on the CR and try the alt.point under the HANA just to rule it out?

Might be worth posting your JR log for building the .ecc as well.

I checked with a multimeter the B pad of coolrunner againts the ALT STBY_CLK just to be sure and it was ok

Heres the log

What cable are you using for CPU_RST? that looks like a 75 Ohm cable. Probably too much impedence. If you intend on using that, try without the 10 Ohm resistor.

why did you smother your STBY_CLK point with hot-glue already? No offence but unless you've borked the point and it's been repaired, there's absolutely no need to do this.

Do you hear the fans reset every 4-5 secs?

Definitely try the other .xsvf's

Weh I was fecking about with the 'dodgy' xebuild patches for Jasper, not every timing file produced a Green Light.

even after reading the OP i would re-solder, i have used the same cable without any issues and believe it being down to a soldered connection. but thats just my opinion. Also what martin said is correct. Some constructive criticism, why do so many people insist on using hot glue rather than tape? if your as competent as you suggest, you wouldn't use glue! hope you solve the problem

I would re-solder the GND. It looks like it's lifting off the CR anyways. If GND isn't making a solid connection you will always have the problem you're describing.

I agree with Trippy86, I always use ESD-Tape.
The STBY_CLK is ridiculously easy to solder... the only unit i borked in hundreds, was the falcon i purposed screwed up in order to create the guide :)

But well, just to CLARIFY, just took the hot glue, used wirewrap and took a few more pics...

Any doubt about the ponit?

And this is what i use to check before using hot glue... front lenses from an old dead canon SD970... with these you see a macro even closer then the pic i posted

But thanks Oggy, will try the other files o be sure, and finally, will try just to flash it with RGH 1.1 Jasper files, and install it on my working Jasper

The Ground is solid Crono, it just looks like that :)

I wasn't doubting your soldering skills. I was curious how you tested it before covering it in glue.

Do your fans 'reset' every 4-5 seconds as I asked previously?

Dont think so... wasnt always able to pick up the reset noise on phats, slim was easy just to get closed to the fan and you would hear the infamous "reset click"

Just tried with the other files and its a no go

I can use the coolrunner with RGH 1 without the C15 cap? if not, anyone knows the value so i can restore it and test it on my jasper

If you're not hearing the fans reset, I would suggest that's why it's not glitching/flashing.

Are you getting a voltage spike of around 1.2v from POST_OUT1 at a frequent rate?

Hmm will try that before trying the RGH 1.0 on my jasper

off to buy a 1nf cap to return the pcb back to stock

Cant believe i have a bunch of caps here and could not find a 1nf one... lucky me the nearest electronics store is really close :)

Will up the thread as soon as i do all the tests
