Hi,

I have managed to install the cool runner and NAND x this has allowed me to obtain the CPU key and DVD key. However I can not update to 13604 because I have completely destroyed my DVD drive so I was wondering
1. Can I just install the freeboot 13604 on a 8955 xbox ?
If not

Can I borrow someone NAND image for who has 13604 and flash the the NAND with that image and then install freeboot 13604 ?

I have a jasper 16mb motherboard !

you should be putting the new drive in now you have your cpu and dvd key really. it should work ok, i have done some up to the current freeboot that started on 12611 but never as low as yours is. if you update the freeboot to current be aware the firmware on the drive changes on 13xxx dash onwards so the new drive would need the new firmware version.

Use Multi_builder 0.7 to make a retail image and flash that to your NAND.

It doesn't matter what dash you're on to begin with. All that matters is the LDV matches that of the console.

Hi Martin.
As Badboy_225, I have the 8955 dashboard and no DVD (I don't have any DVD key and original stock firmware).
I read also your forum on Multi Builder 0.7 and LDV and your previous answer to Badboy_225 where you say to build a retail image with Multi Builder.
But, it's not clear to me, if I have to edit the option.ini file (I didn't see any option_r.ini in Multi builder 0.7) and manually set the LDV or there is no need to manually configure anything (I have only to provide the command to create a retail image). Please can you clarify what I have to do? Furthermore, what's the difference between RGH image and retail image?

1. Read my LDV sticky again until it makes sense to you.
2. If I need to explain the difference between retail and RGH, you should get someone else to do this for you.

If I understood correctly your LDV sticky and also the answer you provided to badboy_225, in case you have the current original nand image (I will retrieve it when I will receive nand-x) you don't need to install MS dashboard 13604 in order you can create and install freeboot 13604 but you can create a retail image (for what I can understand it should be a sort of MS dashboard update 13604 (without increasing the LDV) + freeboot) with Multi Builder 0.7. It is not clear to me if the retail image creation needs in general, also in my case (I will provide the current original nand image for creating the retail image), that LDV must be manually configured in the options.ini file (or options_r.ini) or it can be left blanc (LDV will be retrieved from the source nand image). Sorry for boring you, but I cannot verify the Multi Builder's behaviour now (I don't have any nand image I can test) and I'd like everithig is clear before starting with RGH. I asked you a clarification also because badboy said that at the end he created freeboot using cool shrimp (if I'm not wrong it doesn't use multi builder).

Any answer is welcome as any suggestion on useful doc and post helping to understand how efuses, xell, freeboot, dash etc.. work.

I'm sure that post made sense in your head, so I'm just going to nod and say 'yes'.

I picked out a few phrases that I recognised but it looks as if you've just taken a load of different terms and tried to make a sentence out of them.

It's beginning to make sense that you really haven't a clue what you're talking about or doing. that's not a bad thing per-se. the problem comes when you need to learn and are not prepared to go read. Go check Free60.org for a load of information on Xell, LDV, efuses etc and you'll be better informed for it.
