I was curious on what everyone is doing for HDD storage on dual nand stock and RGH.. I notice that after install of demon dual nanding that the internal drive which is set up with the RGH doesnt recognize on stock nand..which makes since I guess. But I have the slim elite which only comes with 250 gig HDD and no onboard storage :( which would benefit me great right now. is there anyway to partition the internal HDD to act as 2 drives? maybe use 4gigs for stock and then the rest for RGH. I guess I could use external drive I have my games on but I like knowing my FSD will boot without worrying about external HDD being hooked up all the time.. whats everyone doing that works for them??

I have similar question and situation. I have the 250 GB slim (w/ Demon/Coolrunner combo) also, and ideally I would like to boot FSD off my internal 120GB ms retail hard drive and put unlocked DLC on it, but the internal is currently used just for retail games and such. I currently have an external fat32, 500 GB usb drive that contains FSD, backups, xexmenu, unlocked XBLA games, etc.

Is the best way to accomplish this to have two official internal ms drives that I swap; something I really don't want to do, 1 for RGH (FSD, backups, unlocked XBLA games, etc.) and 1 for Retail? Or is it ok to put FSD and unlocked DLC on my current internal MS hard drive? I've searched the forums for the setup most people use and haven't seen many examples. Just don't want to get banned. Thx.

if u dont want banned then keep homebrew and other stuff on diffrent drive never on online drive i set up 8 demons so far and use 2 diffrent hard drives one for each side i jus put live profile on usb switch back and forth never signed in on freestyle or emulators dont sign in with it till i launch game

I was thinking of doing just this. I have 2 enclosures and 250gb drives. One was legit, other I think was pulled from a laptop, cant remember. I should be able to format that drive under a glitched NAND and just swap hdds as well along with the nands.
Find a cheapo 256mb drive in a drawer and use that for profile. I have a 64mb mem unit somewhere.

I have a dual nand machine. I can switch RGH and original mode with a switch. In original mode the HDD and Coolrunner is disabled, drive got original firmware and internal 4GB memory is in use. In RGH mode the drive got iXtreme 3, internal 4GB is disabled and HDD and Coolrunner are enabled. This could be done with a machine without internal memory. Just use a USB stick and disable the +5V from that port.

This is true dual mode unit. The RGH mode got different drive key, mac etc. and also the SMC is properly reset. I'm going to add a third nand the next time I open the unit.

So is there any way to have fsd and stock on same internal HDD? Because when I switch to stock on my dual NAND it doesn't regonize the internal hdd whic has all my FSD setups on... Was just curious on what I need to do to get everything working on 1 hdd .. Stock online and fsd ... I can switch hdds out and use 1 hdd for glitch and the other for stock but rather it be as simple as just everything on 1 so no hassle of taking it out Everytime ... I was thinking if I just backed up my internal fsd hdd then reformatted it with the stock configuration .. Then just setup my stock profile first then add my fsd data back on that maybe everything will work on both stock NAND and fsd NAND on 1 internal? Anyways if anyone has the right setup of doing this please comment :). Any help would be great to make our dual NAND experience that much more awesome and convenient.. And if this is a flag for being banned please tell me how Microsoft could detect this? I know the fsd data will come back as corrupt but that shouldn't be a reason for getting banned since they can not see what that data is...

Data corrupts even on retail side, and thats what HB content looks like to live. They can't assume corrupt data is HomeBrew content and ban you. There's no benefit to two HDDs, might feel like it, but its safe.

How are you able to boot ixtreme firmware on the RGH nand, and original firmware on stock nand, do you have 2 dvd drives?

I just ordered two Western Digital 250GB drives and 2 fake enclosures for a Slim Trinity which is also being sent to me soon because I figured I should be on the safe side and use separate storage devices for it since I plan on having a CR3 with DemoN setup eventually. I decided upon a non-4GB Trinity because I figured that the common onboard storage would increase the chance that it would be unsafe for Live. Originally, I was planning on having my BB Jasper DemoNized, and I copied XeXmenu and some other stuff over and sure enough it just showed as corrupt data. I understand that they can't differentiate homebrew from truly corrupted data, but I am a very cautious person and I also have another Slim Corona 4GB Special Edition (with white Kinect!) coming to me in the mail as well, so I would end up needing 2 HDDs anyway. I have a Seagate 320GB laying around the house I could use on an RGH NAND, but I figured if I ever wanted to sell the console, it should be sold with as close to an official drive as possible so that it would work on retail consoles.

That's just my $0.02. And I can't wait to get my setup!!!

It's probably much wiser to run two hard drives. If M$ checks your achievements on your profile (WHICH THEY CAN DO!!!) and see a bunch of stuff like "Welcome to the World of Homebrew" from running SNES360 or something... insta-flag for ban. Just saying.

Yes, but that's an entirely different issue from Homebrew content on a Dual NAND system. Anyone who plays emulator homebrew on their JTAG/RGH console or Dual NAND and then syncs their profile to Xbox LIVE should expect (and probably deserves) to get banned pretty quickly. As for the issue of having app data (XeXMenu & FSD etc) in your profile when it connects to LIVE, that's completely harmless. While it has been confirmed that using most homebrew software DOES leave detectable traces on your profile, not a single person has ever been banned for it, nor has anyone ever been banned for simply having homebrew content on their retail Harddrives (which shows as corrupted to XBL, nothing else).

Bottom Line:
Be careful about non-official achievements (emulators etc), but other than that your RGH NAND/console will NOT impart any sort of ban-able offense onto your XBL profile.
