RGH Coolrunner prob

hey all so i read my nand got 2 the same so boo yeh wrote my ecc with +w16 installed my coolrunner to my slim trinity but all i get is a red light on the front the fan stops instantly...what have i done lol i cant see any bridging at all

Pictures of your soldering would be helpful, if you programmed the CoolRunner correctly and wrote the ECC to the NAND then the wiring is at fault.

when you wrote the ecc file, did you definatley use the +w command? or +W?

faliing that switch cool runner to prog mode (turns it off) and reflash original nand and see if it still boots.

Did you boot the console in between soldering and reprogramming? I reckon not.

I reckon you've messed up point B on STBY_CLK. This is the first place to check.

Some pics of my board... don't mind the hot glue the tut i used said to do it to stop them coming up...i desoldered the bridge i circled ill let u know how it goes if you see anything wrong please let me know thanks for the help

...and you've hot glued STBY_CLK.

BIG mistake.

The problem is more than likely there, but remove the solder bridge first.

ok, so if it goes immediately to red then CPU_RST is the problem. You may have damaged the trace on the underside of the board, or bridged the point.

so take the hot glue off and try again?

Yes but be very careful taking the glue off because you will end up pulling the pad and possibly resistors off the board!

i seen a tread for alternate ports are there alternates for the slim or am i sol if i cant get the glue up?

If you have any hot glue around, throw it in the bin.

Get electrical tape instead. You only need to support the wires. If you're relying on hot glue to hold a solder joint together, forget it.

Pics are too blurry - did you not check the console before firing in with the hot glue?

Really bad process - I suggest you follow another guide.

thanks for the help guys but i gave it to mate and he f**ked my board by unsoldering the little thing off the rst point so i pretty much got a paper weight now

im talking about the little chip looking thing next to the point the little raised up piece and he lost it so i dont have it. im in newcastle australia.
