In your Nand
I was experiencing GPU Temps in the high 60's (C). Today I did the XLclamp FIX and cleaned and reapplied thermal compound to the GPU & CPU.
Your Temp should be below 50 on high speed (fan) my usually sits around low 40's. Whats the temp now after you did the x clamp fix?

Do you even understand how the Reset Glitch Hack works? or just didn't read his problem.

Idiot.......

Sorry to be cruel but don't waste peoples time. His issue is not boot, but actually the other side of the Reset Glitch the homebrew software...
Ive had one jasper that was super picky about how the wires where ran on the board....booted perfectly but would freeze 30mins into a game...so be nice and help the thread with things that work not being a negative Nancy.......Move your wires to different areas see if it helps

Temps in the high 60's is not an issue, if you check out the NAND in 360 dump tool you can see what temps the 360 is set to maintain.

IIRC the desired temps for a Falcon console are...

CPU - 80*C

GPU - 75*C

ERAM - 78*C

The shut down temps are 100-102*C, however you can adjust the temp you desire in your NAND and the 360 will automatically adjust the fans to maintain the temps you set.

This is true, but also where MS failed. They shut off temps are way to high thus causing the RRoD and cpu/gpu problems.

Possibly, but RRoD was an unforseen issue, temps of 100*C won't damage the actual BGA package of the CPU or GPU, these things are normally tested to constant temps of 150*C or there abouts before mass production starts, however no-one ever thought for 1 minute that the BGA connections themselves would cause so many issues with lead free solder.

Had they used a PC style socket then all the GPU related RRoD issues we see would be non-existant, but that would have been an un-nessesary extra cost, and as such normal BGA connections were chosen, which makes perfect sense.

If you have followed things to a rule as Martin has stated wiring or soldering you should be good to go. As a rule of thumb I strip board right down apply new Thermal Artic 5 of course. Clean whole board with pure alchol this removes dirt . sort out rgh/jtag double check wires for good solder points. Now again Martin will get my thumbs up I had a falcon giving me grief once and Martin has come to my rescue. I went away for a bit then checked his photos and noticed I had a wire a bit too close to a mosfet so relocated and bang system running sweet. Remember take caution we are working on units that have been running for upto 4-5 years before we get our grubby mits on them lol. So take your time , I am not a expert but those that make posts to help us out in vip mode or supermod status know what they are talking about , so please listen to them.

as a footnote. Yesterday I started work on a jtag system . Yes a Xenon as well . Now before I opened it up system was working fine. ok did a bit of tinkering and soldered wires to board . did nand bits and bang 0102 . So today I am going to reflow gpu/ram chips . Just goes to show even though it may have been fine before hand doesn't mean it wasn't going to rrod on you. Again as stated before this are old units by todays standards so take care and caution . P.S good luck with you falcon.

i had same problem as you install was perfect booted first time every time instantly and i suffered from freezing during gameplay i read on the tx forum someone else suffering the same problem and they fixed it by putting electrical tape underneath the wires and over the top of the wires so i removed the installers glue and used elec tape solved my problems no freezing since hope this helps gelboy

gelboy normally its big block jaspers that need the double tape insolation but glad you sorted it this way . Basically you isolated the wires from the board but as you also stated it was reading around on the forum that you tried this method and it worked for you . Personally never had a problem like this with a falcon but as they say one persons tea is another persons coffee.

I have a falcon right now that I rgh'd and it freezes. Wrote stock nand back and still freezes. So try your stock nand and play for a bit. I know I want to get rid of this falcon for about 50 bucks.
