RGH RGH Jasper randomly dies complete with weird fan behavior

I've done at least a dozen of these RGHs; every motherboard except xenon. Now I've got this Jasper 16mb with flash config 00023010. Flash the glitch image, boot it up in my basement to test, boots good. "CAP" point is soldered.

Bring it upstairs. Have the dvd drive plugged into the computer. In the middle of writing LT 3.0, the xbox shuts off. Weird, so I turn it back on and FANS FULL BLAST! Last time this happened to me, I screwed with my green and blue wires and it magically fixed itself.

Screwed around with it for an hour. I'm not sure what I did but one time (I think I removed the green, blue, power, and ground wires completely) fans were normal.

Now it alternates between fans full blast, fans not on at all, and fans on for 1 second then off. Halp? Oh yeah, obviously not booting anymore.

Oh and pictures are from a box I did yesterday, not of the actual box I'm talking about. Same exact configuration.

I can try that. I tried flashing the replacement dashboard since I had just gotten the cpu key, and I got no difference in behavior.

Oh, also, used the alternative STBY_CLK point on the underside of the board. I don't like the original point. I'm absolutely exhausted though so that's something I will have to check in the morning. With the power and the ground cables removed I get no change in behavior, which worries me greatly.

If youve remove the power to the coolrunner and still same problem i would check all your soldering again sounds like youve shorted something. Personally i would take of the insulating tape off from your solder points as it might be pushing down the cable onto another point, but i would insulate the the cables.

Alright, I'll try that first thing in the AM. Any other ideas let me know as I'll try them in the morning. I'm at wits end; this happened with the first xbox I RGH'd and never again (also a Jasper 16mb...hrm). I also somehow fixed it, to which I thought had to do with my green and or blue wires.

It appears to have been the STBY_CLK wire as apparently when I heated it up, the sleeve shrunk just enough to short out another point. I'm not out of the woods yet however. Going to reflash the glitch image and hope it boots.

Edit: Also I never expected this point to give me problems so I ripped out every wire except that one >.<

Replaced every wire - nothing
Wrote original nand with "nandpro usb -w16" - rrod 0022
Using original ECC image, instead of sounding like it's resetting every 5-6 seconds, it sounds like it resets instantly. Does the same with original nand, but goes to 0022 after ~10 seconds
fcuk.

Coolrunner currently not pulsing no matter what I do.

This explains my issue: http://www.xboxhacker.org/index.php?topic=17541.0
But currently no solution. I'll try to see if I can get pictures of the PLL_BYPASS point.

My camera phone sucks, but here's the best one I could get.

I had similar problem, jasper 16mb nand version, died, but thanx to me, I had static electricity in me, accidentaly touched heatsink and BAM!!! ever since that no pulse no green light, tried alt stby_clk point it pulses very very fast just once and thats all.. also rrod 0022 on stock nand etc.. so CPU dead I think cause it doesnt heat up at all only gpu does

I randomly shorted one small point on the motherboard by an alternate STBY_CLK. Completely accidental and unexpected. Now I'm kicking myself looking for another Jasper to replace this with. I WAS SO CLOSE!!!

EDIT: Lol? Some guy is buying this obviously broken 360 for $50 (he wanted to buy a broken one) and I'm buying a Jasper 512 with controllers for $125. Not the worst loss in history.

So this is a lesson I won't soon forget. Use other STBY_CLK alternate. No potential for shorts on that one...

EDIT2: What is this I don't even. Removed CR completely. flashed stock nand. No more half second glitch, stock nand boots fine. I think a god exists in this world and he makes it his life goal to troll me.

It took me FOREVER to figure this out, but I finally have. The problem was a bad CPU_PLL_BYPASS point, despite the solder pad still being there and everything looking hunky-dorey. I installed the coolrunner wire by wire, each time testing with a power on to see if that wire/point was causing the rapid reset.

My green wire/solder point was bad. Soldered to the resistor instead of the pad, glitches first try! Still it begs the question...what is wrong with that point? I mean, it's not lifted or anything. Soldering to it caused rapid resets.

Well I guess if any other people have this problem, try an alternate CPU_PLL_BYPASS. Thanks for the ideas!

Edit: VERY odd issues remain. First, it freezes when you eject the dvd tray. Wut? Second, no matter what I do, FSD installer doesn't work from the internet, and dashlaunch just...doesn't work. Not sure what I'll do in the meantime, but I'm pretty sure the customer is okay with this. I'm guessing the short screwed everything up.

Edit2: Freezing during eject appears to be an isolated incident. I can't recreate the issue. FSD Installer was having issues because the customer issued a static IP and it was kept (Also, I'm an idiot for not checking this first). Everything is resolved I guess.
