I have a hard drive with ALL my games & Saves on it. Now when I power-up my RGH it isn''t recognized in XEX and if I go to XBOX storage it wants me to format. HOW can I get this back up and running?

Powered via USB. I have tried different connecters, even ones with a AC Adapter. I also tried connecting to my PC and it was not recognized either.

Try taking it out of the case and hook it up to your PC and see if any different. If not then your HDD might be faulty.

Computer tells me it needs to initiliaze...not sure what that means, but I formated it to Fat32 then transfered games and plugged directly into my RGH

Odd though that the Xbox wants to format it. I wonder if something has happened to the partition.

OP. Plug it into your PC. Right click on Computer>Manage>Disk Management. See if there is any unpartitioned drives in there or a drive without a drive letter.

Disk Management tells me that I must initialize a disk before logical disk manager can access it. Use the following partition style MBR or GPT

Nothing yet. Take a screen shot of what you are seeing and post it. I looks like the drive is there but I can't say that your data is still there and can be recovered.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it does appear that your data is lost. It's showing up as a new drive. You'll have to repartition and format it to make it usable again. Unallocated and 0 bites used. :(

AHHHH!!!! Is there any chance of recovery once I reformat?
Not likely without some skill, money for software and work. For whatever reason, the partition has been destroyed which is an automatic loss of data. Now it needs to be formatted which further destroys data. So ya, as frayed said, your sh*t out of luck.
