I would think this question has been asked but why would need to RGH after we have added a new nand image? Doesn't the new nand image bypass anything in the oem image. Doesn't the new (hacked) dashboard remove any kind protection?

No without the exploit the glitch chip/CoolRunner provides the freeboot nand image would fail verification and it wouldn't boot. The chip is needed at EVERY boot.

What he said above.... the CoolRunner sends pulses to the console's CPU causing it to glitch and boot into a modified kernel.
