RGH update issue (no optical drive)

I have tried searching for a solution and if I missed it and a similar problem has already been discussed I'm genuinely sorry.

I rghéd a falcon recently, am currently running the latest version of FSD and everything is working well.
I wanted to run the latest MS update to fix the avatars and be able to use a kinect.
As i mentioned, it's a falcon board, but does not have a DVD drive.
I booted into NXE and inserted the thumb drive with the update, the 360 reads it, prompts me to start the update, but after I start it, I get an error code: xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-C000-000E

according to the MS website, that means it's a hardware problem: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/system-updates/software-update-errors

Is it because I don't have an optical drive? If that's the case is there any way to update without having one? thanks for your help.

I followed this tutorial using jtag tool

So i'm guessing I should've used the FCRT patch?

BTW, I bought the one I already rgh'ed along with 2 other ones without optical drives, so even if i messed up this one, it would be good to know what the solution is for the others

What would be the remedy for this box? flash back to the original nand, and start over?
