[RGH] Updated Avatar Update with Wrong Version - No Video on Boot

Dash: 2.0.17489

Problem: No Video on Boot

Cause: Accidentally updated Avatar data with 17502 Zip.

Notes: No video on regular Xbox boot, however Xell Reloaded still works without issue.

In XEBuilder it shows my Dash version as 17502, but Dashboard shows at 17489.

I extracted the fiels to USB and loaded it on the xbox, it asked if I wanted to install the Update Files - NOT System Update (http://team-xecuter.com/forums/threads/90631-How-to-Install-Avatar-Kinect-Data-on-a-JTAG-RGH-Console)

Is it possible to flash the dashboard to 17502 from Xell, or to uninstall the Avatar updates?

Sorry, but im really new to this whole modding scene so please forgive my ignorance.

Is That an XBOX360PRO?

If u can boot xell u can read n write using xell reloaded.

Make sure you have a ethernet cable plug into Xbox.


Step 1) boot xell and wait for it to fully load.


Step 2) write down the ip address.


Step 3) open your browser on your pc.


Step 4) put the ip address into your browser and hit enter.


Step 5) press download on the raw flash.

If it is a matter of the avatar update, have you tried downloading the official update from microsoft and extracting the $SystemUpdate folder to a USB drive. Rename to $SystemUpdate to $$ystemUpdate, and boot with it plugged into the console. It should start updating the avatar data automatically. If you arent getting the Xbox boot screen either, this points to nand corruption, so if that is the case, and if Xell boots, flash a new updflash.bin, and then update the avatar. If you cant get xell, then you will need a hardware flasher. Oggy is located in the UK, and would probably be happy to get that sorted for you.

TOP TOP EDIT:: Semi Fixed. I have reflashed through XELL with this image. Back to 17489 and everything is working again. I can access Xbox Dashboard and Aurora/FSD.

GeekHeat: Yes, Xell Reloaded works without issue and I can definitely access it and Download a NAND Dump.

Before I tried to Avatar Update I took a NAND Dump using Simple NAND Flasher and I have that backed up and stored.

My understanding is that I can not use this WebInterface to flash a NAND or anything, just to get a Dump.


Gavin_DarkGlide: I have downloaded the Original Avatar Update (Which is Version 17502 from microsofts website, however my dashboard is on 17489 and I cant find a Legacy link to download the appropriate version of the dashboard update for Avatar)

With the USB in the console booting into Xbox Dashboard (Microsoft Dashboard) it read the USB and said it needed to perform the Update (Again, NOT the SYSTEM UPDATE).

This ran its steps and rebooted the XBox, after the reboot I am now unable to get Video. I can only get Video from XELL.

Note: The kernel version shows as 17502, however from the Dashboard and Dasklaunch it shows 17489.



Now, for the second part of your comment: Flashing the Updflash NAND via XELL.

Can you please link me a guide or how to do it.

My understanding is you have to put the file on a USB Drive and also a XENON.ELF file.

I have not been able to find a Xenon.Elf file. I googled it and couldnt find anything that works.

First the latest kernel is 17511, so you are still behind. Get my J-Runner at http://www.realmodscene.com/index.php?/topic/7531-updated-j-runner.

To easily install the newest kernel, and avatar update, open dashlaunch installer on the console, and then go into the xebuild folder in my j-runner. open command window there(CTRL +Shift + right click) and type in "xebuild update -f 17511" This will update the kernel, dashlaunch, and the avatar data, and reboot the console. This requires your console be on the same network as your PC, which I am assuming it is, as you were able to boot xell, and download your image.
