Hi all ,I have tried to format a freecom 500gb external hdd to fat32 ,I have used easeus partition master.
My xbox does not show the hdd when I insert it using USB ports ,the USB ports are fine as they show 8gb drives .
if I plug the hdd into my tv it shows up as USB device has been inserted .
i have formatted the hdd twice with 2 different programmes and still no luck ,
any body got any ideas or a programme that they have had success with .

Connect the hard drive to your xbox, go to system-----> Storage, you'll see your external hard drive on the list there, select it by pressing A then configure it for use on your xbox, you'll lose everything on it though

I've always used this tool to format my externals to fat32: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=78183

I have heard of some externals not being recognized by the 360. If that's the case, I would open the external, take the hard-drive, install it inside the xbox and use it as an internal drive. Then it should show up in your storage list and you can format it there. I would recommend doing this anyways, because it has a faster bus then the usb 2.0.
