Maybe something wrong with cpu, hana or southbridge. Try flowing? Or completely swapping out the parts?

My guess would be the cpu is faulty, maybe it isn't going back to full speed or something.

Thanks. Im pretty sure the problem is hardware related. Ive done close to 70 rgh and Ive only given up on 2 zephyrs for rgh2.0 (which I no longer work on - not worth the hassle).
Im just gonna flash it back to stock and give it back.
No point in wasting more time on it.

Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but I had another falcon doing the same thing as this one in the OP.

I had the idea of looking at the thermal protection values in the SMC config, and weirdly the values were set very high.

80,75,78 - 100,100,102. The first sets are targets, then the 2nd sets are when the xbox starts to ramp up the fans.

So as you can see the xbox was over heating before it had a chance to cool down.

I adjusted them to acceptable values and now no more freezing!

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what do you mean the xbox was overheating before it had a chance to cool down? Also what values did you set it too?

Edit: because mine have very similar values to yours

Yeah basically the RAM or GPU was overheating, then the system shuts down/halts.

The first set are what the xbox tries to get the temps to, so the fans just run minimum untill the get to set targets. Then once the temps reach the 2nd set (the ramp settings) its supposed to speed up the fans to cool down. But becuase the values are so high the xbox just cannot cope.

The values I set it too was.

75,70,70 - 80,75,75

A few samples from other machines. Stock Temps.
Trinity
82,78,76 - 89,82,82
Jasper
80,75,77 - 95,90,92
Falcon
80,75,78 - 100,100,102
Zephyr
80,75,78 - 100,100,102
Xenon
80,83,85 - 100,110,117

Just checked about 16 different nands and the above was true for all falcons, seems weird to me that they would set the targets and ramps so high. Look at the Xenon ones!
