RGH RGH2 Falcon not booting Xell.

I got a pack of 5 of them from the store. Really didn't think I would need more than that just for one console. lol

Should I try to double/triple them up?

I know this isn't really relevant but I do also have 10k resistors. I know that's a HUGE difference, but it's worth a shot, right?

This is how I got my falcon to boot:

10ohm on "D" with alt point on topside with coax cable, bridged cap on CR and B file flashed to CR. I would get very long boot times with stock "D" cable but it would always boot. Make sure you cut your coax cable to about the same length as the stock "D" cable. Also, note that I tried to cut a shorter coax cable for "D" and my falcon would never boot. So you can try making it a little longer than stock "D" cable then trim down when your playing with boot times. Good luck and I hope someone figures out a good method.

Yup - I asked because you can combine resistors in series to add the values. so add 10 plus 10 and you get 20(ohms). It may help.

Alright, I'll try it out tonight or tomorrow if I can hold my soldering iron... I broke my hand Friday night:rolleyes:

Just alittle update, I tried doubling and even tripling the Ohm's on D, used the coated wire and stock blue wire, No luck what so ever. So I just ordered the COAX cable from Xconsoles. Still the really odd behavior of the long flash of the debug LED.

Try using a 15 ohm resistor1/2 or 1/4 watt(radio shack has them) and the low loss 50 ohm sheild cable or even cable from cablevision will work. That's what I used on my falcon. The 10ohm wouldnt make it boot. The 10ohm with blue wire wouldnt make it boot either. Still takes 6 secs to 2 minutes for it to boot but on avg it's about 20-30 sec's now.

Booted Xell twice in a row after I reflashed the CR and built new Xell image with the new JR. Took about 2 minutes to boot both times. Now FB image is flashed and it's now glitching. I ordered the Coax cable yesterday so it should be here in the next 2-3 days.

Wow, as writing this it booted Xell again with the FB image. took about 5 minutes...
I currently have stock blue wire and 2x 10ohm resistors. Going to play with that for awhile as I'm pretty bored today.

Thanks for all the help guys!

I welcome a flame from the higher ups if it has nothing to do with RGH 2 glitching.
I have a RGH2 Falcon that has been on my bench for a few days trying to get Xell glitch....left on for extended periods of time, many attempts.
Short of it is that I plugged the dvd drive in and glitched within 3 cycles. I had to leave the bench for the day so have not tested it with/without yet but will later today.

You should really start a new thread but here goes.

It is mandatory for soldering pics. Just to check.

You say you glitched with dvd attached. Could the drive have pressed on the wires making contact better or moving them into a slightly better posistion.

Thanks for trying to mod me but I am not looking for support but rather a quick note on a falcon. Considering the topic is on a falcon. By your suggestion every single person that posts a response should create a new ticket.
I have soldered over 1000 consoles and did in fact re-do this particular falcon to rule it out and the drive is not even seated in the case.
It is likely a coincidence that it glitched after doing that. I just have not been back to the machine yet to see. It is a glitch of course.

He was politely telling you to read the rules again.

The rules are there for a reason. If YOU have a problem then YOU start your own thread as others have done.

Infraction has been issued, seeing as even when prompted you failed to do the right thing.

I was not modding you. I had already put a report about it not being about the original post, but it was a suggestion. Which you could have taken up, and would more likely had more people looking at it with it's own heading

My suggestion is correct, as your original post sounds exactly as it is written, like someone asking for help concerning a RGH that does not glitch unless under certain circumstances.

To Quote you

"I welcome a flame from the higher ups if it has nothing to do with RGH 2 glitching.

Tell me that paragraph does not sound like a post for help.

As to creating a ticket everytime someone has a problem, no i do not believe that should be the case, but you search the forums. See if anyone had the same problem and it was fixed. You try the same way of rectifying the problem, and if it doesn't work you start a new thread, to see if there are any other options.

I guess I'll give alittle update since this thread got more attention.

Boots between 20sec-2min
stock blue wire, 1x 10ohm.
sometimes the CR stops flashing and I have to unplug the console and plug it back in though. Very strange...
