ok my 360 got the ring of death lastnight but its working ok now, what i want to do is replace the thermal paste, my question is does it have to be arctic silver coz ive brought some cooltron silver thermal grease, whats the best way to clean the old gunk off, and if i install the talionsmoon fans will this help?

well thanks for all the help guys lol i have succesfully replaced the thermal compound with artice silver 5 and its working flawlesly, but im waiting on my xcm high speed cooler and fan aswell, and the heatsinks are easy to remove btw 
Fan shood help, plus they look cool!!! I replaced my thermal paste will some artic silver and did the xclamp mod, every thing worked great, no more lights. I also did a simple air flow mod by forcing the fans to pull air through the heat sinks instead of the air with less resistance about the heat sink. Box seams to run faster and much cooler now!! Here is a link to the guy who found the xclamp mod, he has a page with a whole bunch of other mods too.

yeah mate ive seen the xclamp replacment looks like its a good idea i dont want to drill the board knowing my luck i'd crack the board but the lawdawgs one needs no drilling so if i get the red lights again i'll go with that one and some of the mods on that page are great think i'll give the fan shroud a go, still waiting on my extra fans though hurry up divineo lol
