Rjtag pin-header

I ordered 2 of the nandx pin header cables and pulled the long black, green, brown and orange wires from one of them and inserted the correct color wire into the empty slots so its kind of like the v3 qsb. My question is why doesn't TX make this cable set and call it the rjtag/jrp pin header cable set? Some people would prefer the pin header over the qsb and i think it would be easier for the noobs to install this way. Also think it would be cheaper than the v3 qsb.

Edit: you could also put a wire in for the 3.3v required for sonus. Just added that myself.

i always do the pinheader install, but i only install the pins needed to read and write the nand. i buy cheap pinheaders (1x20 pin 2.0mm pitch) from ebay and uses, have done this about 2-3 years now :)

could you double check my wire placement? the blue wire on top left is going to be 3.3v for sonus and the other wires matchup tp the colors on the install guide,

i dont realy understand what you are trying to do, it look like a permanent install using pinheaders? i realy cant see the use for that.
the blue wire is at the kiosk pin and you have used 3.3v instead of 5V (actually didnt miss this, i missed that you was going to use this for r-jtag).

ill dbl check with the meter.

the reason is because if the xbox craps out i dont have to remove the qsb, just pull the header and leave the pins, also if i mount the rjtag on top of the dvd drive like the install guide suggest it will be easy to remove the drive if i ever need to because everything is on the pin header except for the cpu_rst wire so i would only have to desolder 1 wire to remove the drive and rjtag.

i had a couple wires wrong, i used a v3 qsb and my meter to get everything correct.

Well you dont have to use QSBs, you could just do a wire install wich is probably the better alternative in comparison to what you are trying to so. If soldering is hard and heavy on you, get one of the many PROs to do it for you.

EDIT: this is realy stupid when i think about it, you are still going to have to remove the post QSB and the jtag QSB if your console "craps out". all you save is the time for desoldering 5 wires.

I would assume the really lazy have a pinheader jtag install also, so only 3 wires and the post out qsb. unfortunatly there is no way to put a pinheader on post out. lol.you could always put a pin on the d pad on the r-jtag, and disconnect it from the r-jtag side, and make it 2 wires and a qsb. which would save 10 minutes of desoldering at most, and you still have to desolder the r-jtag. I could see this being helpful for people with flashed drives. disconnect all pinheader wires and cpu_rst wire, attached with a pin from the d pad, pull dvd drive out, flash put back in play. A no soldering solution to removing r-jtag from boards with flashed drives.

FTR, I've happily reballed 2 consoles which had POST_OUT and JTAG QSBs fitted. Provided you use kapton tape to hold them in place and adhere to proper profiles, they'll be fine throughout the process.
