RROD after RGH

Hi there,

I did my third RGH today and thought everything was going well.

Unfortunately I made the big mistake of not testing the console before I started so i'm now in a bit of a predicament - when i'd finished the install I powered up the console and immediately got RROD (Error 0022).

Of course the question now is - Is the RROD a result of my soldering skills or has it just gone because the mobo has been disturbed?

I've removed the RGH for now and inspected all the solder points with a magnifying glass. I can't see any massive problems, although it looks like the PLL_BYPASS pad to which I soldered may have lifted. I'm not quite sure why this has happened as i'm always very very careful with this point as it's easy to bridge the connections either side. I've done 2 previously with absolutel no problems.

So - the million dollar question - if i've managed to lift the pad would that give me the symptoms i've got? And if so is the only course of action to try the alternate point?

Might be an interesting project as i've never done that before.

Cheers

Will do - might be a day or two. Just tried doing some with a point and click and looks like the macro mode isn't up to the job, so i'll need to get hold of a better camera.

Code:
[B]0022[/B][B]\[/B][B]E10:[/B] Unconfirmed: CPU error, generally caused by a poor connection to the mainboard (cold solder joints/bridged solder joints). This can also be triggered by an error with the TSOP.
If this this can help you to understand what you did or what it is .
try to post some pics !

Still running the stock NAND at the moment - hadn't got as far as flashing the glitched version.

I've read somewhere about 0022 also being related to HANA? I've used the QSB's and although i've de-soldered the coolrunner i've not yet removed the QSB's. Possibly worth stripping these out and see if it still red-rings?

I've attached an image of the PLL_BYPASS but it's not the best of pictures. If it's no good then of course i'll try to get another image sorted.

Cheers

Haha, probably not worth worrying about this any more.

I removed the QSB's and for some reason the board is now totally dead. The adhesive on the back was pretty well stuck down so not sure if i've lifted something whilst removing them.

I'm quite happy to chalk this one down to experience - I know in future to always test the console boots ok before starting any soldering.
