GENERAL RROD E74 1102

I just got a question about an E74 1102 on a FALCON console. Couldn't find anything about it on the internet, anyone had this problem before?

All I found is in this link: http://team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49088&highlight=1102, which does not contain the secondary code 1102.
I know about E74.

I don't think sec. code is relevant here. I'd try putting pressure on the HANA first, then replacing the GPU if that doesn't work.

There is no secondary error code of 1102... are you sure the person who has the console doesn't mean 1022?

That's more consistent with an E74 error, in which case just treat it as a normal E74.

As I said (and everyone else) E74 is E74, time for reflow or better yet reball.

Chances are a reflow won't sort the problem. If it's a genuine E74 then the eDRAM BGA needs reflowing, which you really can't get to.

E74 can also be a completely dead GPU.

Well yeah, if the eDRAM is a problem you'll get a dud reading. I replace E74 GPUs as a matter of course now.

If it's a genuine E74 then the eDRAM BGA needs reflowing, which you really can't get to.

Generally the best way to go is to reball or replace the whole chip however you can repair (maybe "fix" is more appropriate) a E74 with a reflow. I have done it many times without warranty claims. I always recommend reball with replacement chip for those who have E74.

As you said "genuine" E74. E74 can sorta be a catch-all for other not so serious error codes.

Secondary codes are useful if there's no display. In the cases where you see a code, you can use that instead.
