There's re-pasting the CPU and GPU and there's doing away with the X-clamps for bolts. The latter isn't needed unless you have a fault and definitely not needed on a Jasper. As we've seen here, it can cause more harm than good. If you avoid lifting the console out by the CPU heatsink, you shouldn't have to touch anything anyway....When im installing a coolrunner or jtag i always remove the xclamps and repaste because moving the board about with the heatsinks on can break the seal created by the thermal stuff ms puts on and then your heatsinks will not be performing properly after. I started doing this after comparing temps arfter install on systems where id not removed and repasted and ones where i did. Besides if youve got it apart anyway fresh paste wont do it any harm
