Your console should boot fine to a retail NAND with the Coolrunner on NOR, provided it can boot within 20 seconds.

I made a dual NAND+firmware slim (with XD-card and dual SPI flash in drive). Atm the CR is switched off with a P-FET.
I'm gonna change that to a disable signal on an extra soldering tab (A on slim).

If you use relays don't forget to use a protection diode parallel to the relay coil.
