hey i have a v1.6 xbox running an X3 mod chip and am completely confused. I have flashed my banks 1-4 with x3_1959_v16plus, and it runs great. i have also downloaded avalaunch version 0.49.3 onto my computers hdd. ive converted all the contents of the extracted avalaunch folder into an .iso using quix, and have burned it (as a .iso file) at slowest speed onto a CD-R. i have also made sure my boot order is as follows: 1) Avalaunch.xbe 2) evoxdash.xbe 3) xboxdash.xbe 4)unleashx.xbe and 5) xbmc.xbe.
When i insert the CD-R that i burned avalaunch v0.49.3 onto in to my xbox v1.6b and boot it up with mod enabled (on banks 1-4 (where my 1959bios is)) it gets to the X box start up screen, takes about 5-10 seconds then shows the "xecuter rox my box" and boots to the normal 1959 bios. it seems like its not reading the cd-r at all, whats going on?

Am i doing things right? if not please point me to something
Is 1959 bios capable of supporting avalaunch v0.49.3 dashboard on my v1.6b xbox?
if not, what is?

I've spent that last 2 days reading everything i could get my hands on and my research has come to a dead end.
Any help will be of much gratitude, and if i somehow missed the answer to this on the forum or web please send me the link to where i can find it :) thanks a bunch.

do this:

boot 1959. it has an FTP server built in

ftp to your xbox... whatever its IP is, port 21, username and password is x3

once you are in, move the avalaunch contents that you downloaded onto the root of your C: drive. make sure the .xbe is named avalaunch.xbe

in 1959, go to X3 Config Live -> Customize X3 Bios and DISABLE Autostart X3 config live.

more than likely the reason that your CD isnt booting is because your xbe on the disc is named something other than default.xbe. on a disc, the xbox executable has to be named default.xbe... but seeing that the X3 is super sweet and has an FTP server built in, you have no need to burn an ava boot disc.

Also (just for reference): Bootable ISO's should be burned to CD-RW. AFAIK, CD-R will not work for most. Regardless, you'll get more out of your dash by installing to the xbox HDD. It's impossible to make any lasting changes if it's on a CD (without reburning).

Yeah, it sounds like he wantes to run it off a CD.

CD-R's RARELY (on my thompson.. NEVER) work. Should be minimum a CD-RW

But seriously, if you're trying to get avalaunch onto the HD, one fantastic thing about the X3 is the FTP server built in. Use that to transfer Avalaunch to the HD.
