HDTV requires component video cables. as audi said its the video cables consisting of green/red/blue. you need the Xbox HD AV Kit for it.
yes you can use S-Video on your xbox. you need to get the AV pack that supports S-Video. S-Video has the same amount of scan lines as your composite (yellow) video cable, but it does handle the color bleed a little bit better, so it does give a *slightly* better picture. you probably would only be able to tell the difference between composite and S-Video if you have a nice TV with a 3 Line Digital comb filter (or better)
But if you have an HDTV, dont you dare hook up your xbox with anything less than component video for god's sake!
First bad choice was to buy an RCA. (Let me guess, the box said "XBOX compatible"? YUCK!) Second was to ask if s-video is hd. If it was hd, they wouldn't call the s-video cables "Advanced AV pack" and the component cables "high definition av pack". Third is complaining about having 400 posts... what difference does that make?
