Safe to update LTU2 board?

I have a Trinity Slim with a 0225 16D4S in it.
The person I bought this from broke the stock PCB attempting to unlock it and did not back up the dummy.bin or any other file.
So my only option, other than leaving it RGH, is to go with a LTU board.
It is still on an EXTREMELY old dash. Is on 13599 currently.

I bought a LTU2 PCB and got the LTU2 CFW. I was able to extract the C-R.bin and key.bin file from the NAND image and with JF was able to build a CFW file to flash to my PCB. I had a previous post from yesterday where the FW would not write. It appears to be writing now.

The drive that I have POSSIBLY has a bad laser in it. So when I boot up the drive, it does not read any games.

But here is one weird thing... When the console is booting, the center light (power light) flashes green. When the dashboard is loaded, it still stay flashing green. It keeps flashing until I eject the drive and then close it. Afterwards, it stays solid green, just like it is suppose to.

I was thinking that updating this console to the latest dash might help fix some things. Plus, I want to be able to play this on Live.

I know that the fall 2012 dash update flashed new FW to all drives. I thought I read somewhere that putting stock FW on a LTU2 board would mess it up somehow. Is this true? Am I going to have any issues if I attempt to update the dash to the current dash?

And also, anyone know possibly why my power light is flashing green on booting until I eject and close the drive?

Any help is much appreciated!

Power light flashing is usually down to no DVD drive connected,, maybe it's not seeing the drive till it's ejected then shut, maybe a dodgy micro switch inside the drive? As for the rest I'm sure someone else will know

Alright, I swapped lasers and it will now spin discs. (it wouldnt spin them with the other laser, it only said "open tray")
Tried a DVD as well as a retail Xbox 360 disk. It spins both discs... but it says "open tray" during the whole time.

I dumped the FW that is currently on the board and it is showing the correct DVD key and that the FW is LTU2 FW.

Any ideas?

Did you dump the FCRT from your nand, and use that also when you created your custom firmware? Also you may need to update the console before it will recognize the custom firmware as valid. I dont remember off the top of my head which stock update flashes the drive, but if it is not a XDG3 dash, then i would assume it wouldnt recognize an xdg3 based firmware, Custom or stock, as valid.

Am I able to update from my super old dash with the LTU2 PCB and the CFW on it to the current dash? I don't have the original PCB that came with it...

Doesnt work like that on Slims. Unfortunately. Have to have the dummy.bin from the original drive... Which I don't have. LTU made it possible to do with only the DVD key.

It does. Use the lizard toolbox I have done it plenty Of times create a dummy for your slim With the DVD key You can also crate a stock or cfw with jungle flasher as log as you have DVD key but if you already have ltu boats use it. If not there other ways around this al

Anyone want to show me how to build a completely stock 0225 firmware using only what I can get with a NAND dump? I followed Uber's guide to a T and all seems to flash correctly to my LTU2 board and yet something is wrong with the firmware. When it boots, I get the green flashing light. It doesn't read any sort of disk, and when I attempt to update from 13599... I get a status code error of "351F - 40A3 - 1600 - 0700 - C000 - 000E".

I get that same error code whether I connect to the network via the dash and then accept the prompt for an update... Whether I boot up with the update on a USB... or whether I completely remove the drive and then do the previously mentioned actions.
