Installed a X3 CE into a 1.6, turned it on and got the flashbios no problem... tried to network flash 3029 and got to 20% green bar and it freezes... tried other bios' as well.... and I'm using the 1.6v of the bin. Like Brick I can also flash FlashBios without issue....

I'm using a windows machine and this is a new install, so no ftp'ing since the new HD hasn't even been formatted yet.

Any help would be great... thanks

what flashbios version did you use to flash X3 bios with and can you tell me your network setup ie. PC ip, xbox ip, router with dhcp enabled or disabled, etc.

it was flashbios 3.0.3

the xbox is showing 192.168.1.102

it's thru a router and same setup I've used for 6 other xbox's.... I think my router has DHCP disabled... but not sure...

I've tried 3.0.1 as well and same thing... freezes at 20%... as I turn it off I can see that it gives and error... some sort of problem writing, but it's too fast to catch and write down.

My IP is 101 and there it says my address is assigned my DHCP.. so not sure about all that...

ok.. update... it'll take Evox M8+ bios for the 1.6 but frags on any X3 bios..... not sure it's something in the switch isn't working right and it's not getting a 1mb bios slot... not sure.. the Evox is only 256... so back to playing around with switches and no switches to see what I can come up with...

Ok... unplugged the front switch and poof.. it works.... seems there is a bad control switch.. the dipswitches on the front don't actually pull up the right banks.... now to either figure out what they really are or wait for a new one...

Ok... it's a bad switch or bad switch interface.... it's reads back 5 only when it's on on off off off and bank 6 when it's off on off off off.... so any ideas or just contact the retailer for a new switch set-up?

... only the evox m8+ will work on 1.6 xbox's, thats why your xbox FRAGS on any x3 bios. I dont know why this is and im not the one to ask about it, but its the only bios that works for a 1.6 on the X3 as far as i know.

Do a search before posting and you would have found this out much sooner and not wasted your time pratting about with your console.

How about you get a clue and realize there are two versions of X3 bios in the archive you download.
X3 3029.bin
X3 3029 v16plus.bin

X3 is tailored for 1.6 xboxes. don't spit out wrong info.

Also you should check the extra LPC points that the X3 uses. Might not be soldered correctly.

sorry about that, i havent checked xbins for a while, so i hadnt come across this. sorry if the info i gave has caused any problems. i hope it hasnt.

are you confused with X2 bios because I got a version 1.6 and X3 3029 works perfectly. I'm sure there are thousands of users with 1.6 has no problem neither.
