SAMSUNG MS28 Samsung ms28 Intro Failed

You dont need anything else - the X360USB PRo works with all drives perfectly - its just that the Samsung badflash methods are different to when you are using SATA and too many people think they can do it from memory as opposed to instructions.

shall I restart jf many times? or just keep on power cycling it? did it few times and I got ........................ sigh.

i hit intro. off the drive. click yes. probe. on the drive. then ................................

I was having this problem too using JF 1.86 and X360USb. THIS IS HOW I SOLVED IT:

1. SAMMY UNLOCK - YOU WILL GET "INTRO FAILED"
2. TURN OFF CK3
3. HIT "INTRO / DEVICE ID" AND PROMPTLY (1/2 SEC.) TURN ON CK3 - WAIT A COUPLE OF SECONDS IT WILL GO TO 0X70.
4. WRITE / OUTRO...

I found this out yesterday when i was trying a lot of drives to see which ones had good lasers, i must have done 15 sammys in a row. They all worked in the exact same manner. Good Luck ! :cool2:

Oh, and by the way, no probe... Just JF and X360USB. I'm just not sure about one detail. If the tray was closed or half open, but you can try both ways.

Sorry if i made you think (or sounded like) i was taking credit for it. I am not familiarized with all the forum yet. Just tried to help the guy out. The thing is you guys give such great support and the material is so extensive, that sometimes a detail can be overlooked. Thank you.

I had this same problem, try the 1.84 of JF. If that doesn't work, try 1.84 with Sammy Probe v3 option, this worked 100% for me when a Sammy would not go into vendor.

Here's My Steps:

1. Turn Off CK3
2. Intro
3. Press Yes
4. Probe Point Like In Tut
5. Turn On CK3
6. Remove Probe
7. Intro Again
8. Read
9. Repeat
10. ???????
11. Profit!!!

Same here i flashed my sisters litle kid`s drive!Had to probe it with probe 3.Had the same probs that you seem to have!sorry if spelling is crap!

there is nothing wrong with x360usb pro and samsung - the 3 different methods are already documented in the Samsung section - if you took the time to read them you'd know.

I had the same issue with a MS28 a few weeks ago, all the three method failed on me, tried getting into vendor mode about 10-15 times on each method. Never worked, maybe I just have sh*tty luck.

As per the guys instructions, the ck3 is already off when the intro is pressed instead of cycling it off/on after pressing intro as per the guide instructions.
I will try to get my hands on the MS28 again tomorrow as it belongs to a friend and see if these instructions work.
