Hello guys,

I bough this XBox from eBay some days ago and the seller said it was banned. That didn't matter for me, so I bought it anyway. I thought it was flashed with iXtreme or LT, but when I tried to play some backups, the console wouldn't play any of them, recognizing them as movie dvds.

Well, I was surprised, so I managed to open the console to flash it with JF. Here's the deal:

The drive had Samsung MS28 stickers, wires and tray shape, but, when my PC booted, I could see it showing up as LiteOn DG-16D2S (also in JF).

Using Onboard SATA (Nforce chipset), on Win7 64x, PortIO running Ok​

So I figured out that the seller most probably had some issues with a original LiteOn and put a Samsung in its place, getting banned.

Before trying to flash it, I got the console in 9000's dash, and tried to update to 13146, which had some e71 fail in the way and the console ended up as a 12600's, still working fine with original discs, however.

So, my question is: Is it possible to flash the current drive with LT, so I can play backups? (bans, flags and ap25 games won't matter for the time being - I'm planning to get a LiteOn drive)

LT does not support spoofing... the update failed because drive osig did not match the osig stored in nand.

dump FW get a liteon and flash original liteon fw. do the update then flash LT and you should be golden!

Hello there, mates,

I came by just to tell you that I've tried to flash the drive witch LT+ and it worked.

Here's my JF session log. JF managed to detect the spoof, load the sammy lt+ firmware, and adapt the cfw to the spoof situation. It's amazing.

However, I haven't tried to update my Xbox to newer dash, It's on 12611 yet.

I was afraid it wouldn't work, because everyone said LT wouldn't work, but it is working, I just tested.

I had this issue when I used automatic spoof targeting in JungleFlasher.
Then, I heard around that it would update without issues if I just didn't spoof anything (actually, in JF I just needed to manual spoof the samsung as a samsung, without worrying that the console was supposed to have a LiteOn). That works for the update.

Nowadays, however, I'm having a issue to play XGD3 (unreadable disc), but I think it's probably the media I'm using or lens issue, since I've heard about people around using different drives (not JF spoofed though) being able to play XGD3.

ok your issue is that you have a spoofed drive
samsung drives don't read AP2.5, liteons do
if the original drive is supposed to be a liteon , your console is trying to detect the AP2.5 , and since it has a samsung in it (that cant detect it) it will not play XGD3 games (they all have ap2.5) or any other ap2.5 games either

you gotta get the new liteon drive because eventually all games will be xgd3 and you will not be able to play your backups of those. most major release games now are xgd3
