Ok long story short about 2 months ago I dropped my then 3month old xbox about 10cm (3 inches) whilst packing it away back into it's box (ie it was surrounded by the foam it came packaged in).
Ever since the drive has become extremely flakey when reading original xbox game discs. At one time they would read some of the time but now the drive wont read any of my game discs at all. My backup DVD-r's however read perfectly even after trying to load an original disc with no success.
I have tried cleaning the laser and mirror but the problem still persists.
Can somebody please shed some light on my problem and possibly suggest a way to fix the drive. I don't want to buy a new laser or replacement drive as from what I can tell it's not 100% stuffed (yet).
