SATA CHIPSET?? SATA CABLE?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Hi everyone i am a newbie to modding. i have just bought myself an xbox 360 premiuim concole with a hitachi drive-not sure what model yet. but i am doing as much research as i can as i don't want to muck this up, i know what to do step by step up to the point where i have to use SATA cables and chipsets. i have a laptop, and my dad has a pc, but he does trading and so it will take a lot of persuading to let me crack open his machine. i have looked up this card:

will this let me do the whole process on my laptop? i have lost many games already because of my puppy who likes to kick over my xbox and move it about wilst playing. will this work or not? i have heard about the voltage settings and since its a laptop how would i connect the two cases together like a pc would do? or isn't this a worry? please reply i really need you guys' help could i connect the xbox to the pc for earthing but do the process on my laptop?

Would this allow the drive to be recognised? and get the flash to work or is is a crap idea, my dads pc also got a virus when we first got it so i cannot check his chipset thing but mine is a:

Microsoft iSCSI Initiator

will this work to flash my console to be able to play backups?

Hey Sam yes it will reconize ur drive on thelabtop if u have correct drivers

I have a usb adapter and i tried to flash on my dads laptop and it wouldnt be recognized PLEASE HELP!

oh and i have a ts28 so it might be the reason it doesnt work on mine it might work...

oh the second one WILL NOT work it is eSATA you need a sata/serial-ata
