I just modded my xbox the other day with the X3 chip and a 200gb hard drive. I was wondering if i could hook up the old hard drive through an ide cable to my pc and take off the saved games to put on new hard drive or will i have to hook the old drive in the xbox, copy to pc,and then copy onto new hard drive.

fastest would be to put the old hd in your xbox, boot off of an evox cd, and copy your saved games from the hd to your pc via ftp. pc cant read your xbox hd, at least without some work.

usually people copy their C: and E: to the computer before replacing the HD with a bigger one... then FTP all the drive data to the Biggie. That gets your OS and Saved games.

I have never seen one before, but that doesn't mean anything. I guess that's why I use UnleashX.

The best way for me, would be that you put your older HD on the XBOX, and FTP the C: and E: drive files to your PC... and then transfer them back to the new one, so you will have all your game save files.. hope this help you out!

you dont need to take a copy of both the c: and e: out of the old drive, all you need to due is copy the UDATA folder located in the e: drive. that is where all your old saves are. so just copy it over to your new hdd.

all you have to due is FTP the UDATA folder from the e: drive in the old hdd and copy it over the UDATA folder in the e: drive into your new hdd. the UDATA folder contains all your saves and is where future saves will go in your new drive.

Hello! New the whole mod thing, but this topic is one I have interest in too.

I backed up my Saves to my PC. Put in a 160GB HD and got everything up and running. FTP'd to my PC and copied the TDATA, CACHE and UDATA to the XBox. However, Dead Or Alive has no clue i've unlock about everything. Halo 2 doesn't have my profile. Basically, every game thinks it's brand new and never been played. What did I do wrong? Thanks!

Where did you put those folders?

They need to go into the E: drive. They won't be recognized in the F: drive. That's the only reason I can think of though. If you did put them in the E: drive, then I'm out of ideas.
