Hello all.

Just got my x 2.6 ce with xapter installed and everything seemed fine except the screen is jumping, and I can't see what it says. I'm assuming that it doesn't matter what region my box is, because the chip should bypass the region. I have tried using the rf adapter, and an rf modulator. but the screen still jumps. the only thing I can make out is that it's the flash bios screen. can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

all connections are solid. it's a solderless install. I get the flash bios v3.0.3 screen, but the screen jumps frantcily as if the v-hold on the tv needed fixing. could be a problem with this chip adn the video chip on my box?

Are you using a HDTV and a PAL Xbox? If I remember correctly, that combination doesn't mix. There is a fix, though.......somewhere.

Put a drive in it and get the Xbox working without the chip. Then work from there.

I really appreciate the attempts at helping, but no one seems to have read the first posts... if I had a working hd, there wouldn't have been a need for me to get the chip in the first place. THE ORIGINAL HARD DRIVE DIED. I BOUGHT THE CHIP TO USE IN THE ATTEMPT TO REPLACE THE HARD DRIVE. no other hard drive will work on any other xbox other then the stock hd, unless you have a mod chip. Bought the 2 stock drives (which is all I could afford) and the modchip. Installed the modchip, and got a jumping screen with flashbios v3.0.1 (which is from bank 1). the screen is jumping, so I can't make out any of the options. no crossed wires, solder traces etc as this is a wireless install.

thanks again for the help.

If you remove the chip and boot you should still get an error screen. If the screen is normal than there is something wrong with your install. If not, it is probably a video mode problem.

Even if the screen is bad you could still flash the bios and then create a boot disc with avalauch or something and try to change the video mode. It may be tough to read, but it will work.

that's just it, I created abios disc on cdrw, and dvdrw, but nothing seems to happen. since I can't read the options, I don't even kow what option to select.could you list the option that should appear under flash bios v 3.0.1? TIA

ok, I installed the chip into my son's box, and got it to work. so the problem isn't with the chip, but with the box. I loaded some bios into his c and flashed both banks with a different bios, the xbox powered off. Upon reboot with the chip enables, it returned to the flash bios screen and would not go any further, why didn't his dash load? I flashed bank 1 with x 4981 I beleive and bank 2 with the latest evox I have. So what went wrong?

thanks

What do you mean you loaded some bios files onto C? With flashbios the only way to flash both banks 1 and 2 is with a 1 meg bios file. I am guessing you didn't use a 1 meg file, and that's why you are still getting flashbios.

all of the tuts that I've read said to use 2 a 512kb flashbios and 2 256kb evox bios'. I haven't seen any 1meg bios files for the x2.6 ce... I've seen them for the x3.

The X3 bios is 1 meg. You don't need to use a 1 meg bios file for an X2.6. Get 5025, which is already 512k and flash with that. Be sure to use the proper version for your Xbox, and read the readme file. Check out the flashbios tutorial on team xecuter's home page.
