RGH Screwed Up Big time!

Hey All,

I made a major boo boo on my BB jasper i accidently on read 16mb of the nand...i know dumb right but i was always used to doing 16mb consoles anyway the major major slip up happend when i wrote the ecc with -w16...bad i know!!! i fixed that by writing it to +w16 and got my cpu key and such...yay!!! my problem stems now that i cant write a big enough nand as i only have 16mb of the data and i try to use multi builer and it gives me an error about the SMC i then tried to get a donor nand from jtag tool but its down and i cant find one anywhere else does anyone have any tips as to what i can do or have i just screwed then console dead?

write the 16MB of the NAND you have back to the console:

nandpro usb: -w16 nand.bin

How did you mess up? J-Runner does it all for you.

im still old school LPT and nandpro i'll try writing the nand back then do i just read a 256mb version?

can not go wrong with jrunner,its just automatic,try using it next time,you dont have to worry how big the nand size is.it detects and dumps

Then get the right tools for the job.

No point in trying to do a BB Jasper without them.

So pretty sure its all screwed i over wrote the original nand by acciedent and i cant seem to get donor nands to work...i changed the ldv to match the f's in my xell and everything i tried following tuts but i cant seem to get it to work...is the console stuffed should i move on or is there something else i can try to revive the board im no way computer illiterate i done a couple of rgh before but i think i royaly killed this one lol

unfortunately i dont have the money to get someone to fix it i live pay check to pay check i had to save 3 weeks to get the coolrunner sad i know but it happens i mean xell boots so im thinking its just the nand thats causeing the black screen as it dosent red light its just a continuous flashing green light and the coolrunner stops blinking after about 5 green blinks

We write enough guides and tutorials to cover just about every eventuality. We cannot help if you decide you're not going to follow them. All that remains is to either knuckle down and increase your knowledge at an exponential level, or get someone to do it for you.

so reading on i see people using the 68nf cap on the coolrunner could that be my problem or because xell boots it wont be of any use?

You'll need to do a lot more reading. It has nothing to do with the cap.

I'm guessing you read enough to follow it step by step. Time to go under the hood.

You'll need a donor NAND, whatever you have of yours and CPU keys from both yours and the donor NAND.

i already have all that and built the donor nand and id say its all good cos 360flashtool brings up all the info in the KV section where as all my bad builds it would show nothing but bad kv info...

If i upload my created nand can someone have a gander and tell me if its all ok as im at a loss as to what to do from here i figured if the nand shows up fine in 360flashtool the nand must be ok...am i right or am i missing something

Edit: i seem to be getting closer as now i atleast get more than 1 green flash from the CR its tries to glitch but after about 30seconds the 4 green lights on the ROL board go solid green then one drops off so its only 3 is this some sort of error code i never heard of as when i leave it for say 20 mins 2 red lights show up in opposite corners and i cant find an error code that has alternate corners as the problem

ok. here is what I recommend. do a full dump of what you have on the tsop now before you make irreversable damage. dump it 3 times. also I hope you dumped the the 16mb 3 times too. very important though. stop working on it before you get those dumps.

after you have the 3 dumps copy 1 of them to a folder with nandpro and the 16mb you did, then write the 16mb back to the copy of the nand dump using "NandPro backupfullnand.bin: -w16 16mbgoof.bin" then see if it can write the ecc image and if you can use the image.

Personally I would see if maybe you can write the image back and switch the coolrunner to "prog" and see if it can boot normal dash, if not its gonna be fun bringing this back from the dead cause RGH2 can be difficult for some boards. at that point you may need to send it and all the images you backed up to someone. I'd do what antman said.

I would try to create an image out of what you already have. Dont mess with the NAND on the box now. Read what's on the console now, save it, write your original 16mb you dumped first to that, overwriting what's there in the first 16mb. Write that modified image to the nand and try to see if boots to NXE by shutting down the CR... if you can get it to NORMALLY boot to NXE, start from SCRATCH using JRunner... it works with LPT, you just have to select it.
