I bought a new 400gb SanDisk. I copied the contents of my old 128gb samsung over. My switch is on 8.1 with the newest sxos. Some of my old games work most won't says I have to redownload. Question 1. Why would final fantasy 7 still play while octopath and botw etc. Won't? So I hit the plus button and deleted the game data. Tried to reinstall.nsp says installed but same as before same message about game needs an update. Not sure how to get this to work.. I can install and play new .nsp such as the secret of mana collection..

Depending on your FW after moving the contents from the 128, the games might require an update to work.
Did you update to 8.1 at the same time as changing SD cards or you were already on 8.1? Changing SD cards should not effect games needing an update or not.
