Serial #: 44506...

I bought xbox yesterday at best buy near indianpaolis. last 5 digits are 44506. i take this to mean it was manufactured nov 4 2004 in china's second plant.

is this a 1.6b hynix? I am asking since if i find out it is I will try to take it back. then i will look for another samsung.

has anyone found a hynix ram xbox from this china plant made in nov 2004?

Why? Just get an X3 with flashbios 3.03 on it.... This isnt a problem anymore....

is there a big difference in the cheaper hynix memory? or will it not affect performance that much?

also who is selling the 3.03 flashed mod chips?

You should not notice any difference at all.. Just M$ penny pinching... Dont worry, just get the right BIOS and it will work fine...... A lot of the 1.6b's worked fine anyway....Just some of them that had the memory timing problems.

All re-sellers should be distributing chips with 3.03 on ...Make sure you ask them for it though (just to be on the safe side). If you are in the UK then get one from the Bald Bouncer (link at side of page)..Go for it mate!

Drive Flashing help

Hey guys, first off im new to the forums so just wanna say hi! I hope i can do alot to help out around here especially since your forum servers seem a whole lot more reliable than other forums ive been on.

Ok heres my question.

I'm currently trying to flash a Hitachi 47DJ dvd drive from my laptop and im using a usb 2.0 to sata cable to connect from my pc to dvd drive. It looks like this....

USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE

Now first off before anybody tells me you cant use this to flash your dvd drive, ive seen several posts of people saying they have done it, they just (for some weird reason) didnt post how.

So right now im trying to get my dvd drive into mode b but im failing miserably at it. first a tried doing the SLAX cd boot but my laptop wont freakin boot no matter how many times i try. So then i found the DL on yalls website for the ModeB_v0.51. And decided i could get it to work. But now im not getting any command prompt to run the blasted thing. I'm wondering what on earth im doing wrong and i really need some help guys.

Oh yeah, and yes i already installed the PortIO32 successfully onto my lappy. (The only one thing ive done so far)

use Jungleflasher

should let you send directly to the drive and flash from windows

yes you do, but jungleflasher has a utility to do that

shouldn't be too bad

should explain what you need to do thoroughly

one more question though. I'm having trouble finding the jungle usb driver. I've searched and searched and there isint an actual link to get the jungle usb driver. lol, im so lost on that.
