I thought this should be a 1.6B because of the hynix ram (and from what I read on here), fitted x2.6lite, the mod works fine and it boots into flash bios 2.6.0 first time I switched it on.

1.6 or 1.6B ? This can't be a 1.6B as it's booting FlashBios 2.6.0, right? Or is there only an issue with 3.0.1 and 3.0.3? I need to know if I should use FlashBios 3.0.1 or 3.0.3

Cheers

hi martin
why does there seem to be some hynix ram 1.6b xbox's work completely normal , i have had one myself that works perfectly from bank 1 with m8+16 no lock ups or anything it is definately a 1.6b with the hynix ram though ? surely this unit in this post would not show flash bios if there was an issue's like previous hynix ram units ( no video output etc )

Hey Martin C

Wow, I'm also in Motherwell

OK, done that, it boots flashbios 3.0.3 in bank 1 and EvoxM8+16 in bank 2. Only thing is when I press eject the box resets and comes back on with the clock set screen.

This seems to be a more and more common issue. I think it's related to the Evox M8plus16 BIOS somehow. I've had it once where my 1.6 crashed and when I pressed eject, the clock reset.

I only had it the once so I'm not too bothered. Hopefully, TX will release an X2 1.6 BIOS soon ....

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

The talismoon fans and nexillux leds will NOT kill your xbox drive. The talismoon fans were desgned to actually keep your console cooler whilst doing some hardcore gaming. As for the nexillix, the main power cable is a direct replacement for the xbox drive power cable so as far as I can see, everything will be fine and look awesome at the same time. :) Post a pic when you've done it.

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

You can leave that metal shield off the console if you wish. Aftermarket cases don't have that anyway. I would advise buying the case mod where the plexiglass have already been fitted. At least that way, you still have your stock casing in one piece in case you ever change your mind. Plus it saves cutting and buying the extra materials :)

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

The talismoon fans replace the original fans and uses the power socket the the standard fans used. Everything will have its own power supply in other words. As for the cases, take a look here. They have everything you could ever want.

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

Take out the original fan and take out the little power lead for the dvd drive. Place the talismoon fan into the position left by the oem fan. The white power socket on the motherboard just to the left of the fan is where the new fan plugs into. The nexilux comes with a power cable that looks identicle to the power cable you removed from the dvd drive. Plug this new cable from the nexilux into the back of the dvd drive and the other end into the motherboard. MAKE SURE THAT THE WHITE CONNECTORS ARE PLUGGED INTO THE DVD DRIVE AND MOTHERBOARD THE CORRECT WAY or you will fry your dvd drive.

Watch this for the nexilux :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Dm8U77J9x4

Watch this for talismoon fans:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dn6kX2Gx4nY

You will see that the neither the fans or nexilux share any power source.
These are the easiest to understand videos that I can find. If you have chosen a talismoon fan that comes with extra leds, get back to me.

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

Hmmm, this does present a problem. I suppose you could fabricate a homemade adapter to accept both dvd power cables, but I wouldn't recommend it. If I were you, I'd decide which mod you wanted the most and go with that. If you have already bought the talismoon legacy kit, I'd use that because you get the whisper fan AND extra leds all in one kit.

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

could i hook the smart storm to the 12v supply underneath the board? or wich other leds do you reccomend that i could use that are not dvd drive powered.

robin

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

I wouldn't recommend trying to source power from underneath the motherboard, too many things can go wrong. There is the Twilight Flow Wind Tunnel that has leds built in, but that may mean doubling up on power connections at the fans power outlet. It all depends on the type of console you have (hdmi/ non hdmi). Once something has been plugged into the power outlets on the motherboard, your options get quite limited.

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

hey it is a non hdmi xenon motherboard and how do people use whisper legacy and leds at the same time them? or pull the wire that is in the dvd cable on the led storm and put it in the legacy fan cable or is that overkill?

Re: xbox 360 mod leds and talismoon

What other people have probably done is splice all the wires need onto a single power cord. Not recommended.
