Hello everyone .

So as always am trying to find the best methods to rip games to be played on my 360 RGHed jasper.

So as i have mentioned in my previous threads , i was trying to flash a liteon drive to rip games in my pc and transfer them by FTP to my console .

But a better idea comes in my mind .

Is it possible to use a retail 360 falcon's internal HDD with games pre-installed on it , and take that HDD and place it on the RGH console am using ?

Supposing that this will work , how to bypass the disc verification ? the jasper i got has no dvd reader on it .

Install FatXplorer, connect the HDD with the games to your PC, and FTP to the Xbox. In order for your games to show up in metro dash, they must be placed in a specific folder (hdd1\Content\0000000000000000\TITLEID).

Xbox 360 folder heirarchy:

OFFER_ID - Description
-----------------------------------
00000002 - Extra Content (like DLCs)
000B0000 - Title Updates
00090000 - Videos
00004000 - Game Installs
00007000 - Games On Demand
00030000 - Themes
00080000 - "now 000D0000" - Demos
00020000 - Gamerpics

ex. hdd1\content\0000000000000000\TITLEID\OFFERID

The HDD with the games on it is formatted with the serial number from the console it came from, so you're gonna have to transfer them to the other drive. Maybe somebody knows a trick to workaround this, but I'm not aware of another way.

I hope you got the idea !

Yes u can do what ur asking. The rgh wont ask for the disc verification

I see where you're going now. You might be able to enable Samba client mode in FSD (by editing settings.db with SQL DB Browser), so your client Xbox (no games on HDD) can browse the SMB share of the host Xbox over your network or crossover cable. I have never done this, mind you. ;)

SCRATCH THAT. I missed the "retail console" part. :) The only way I know: Install FatXplorer, connect the retail HDD to your PC (either transfer cable or remove HDD from Xbox caddy and use SATA to USB adapter, or install HDD to PC internally), and copy from one drive to the other over Samba or FTP.

I wish i could change the HDD cserial key to be able to use it on my current rgh console , this wills ave so much time .

I guess all i can do now is transferring the HDD content on PC , reformat HDD with rgh console's serial , and inject all the content on it .

I hope that content is not serial protected too !

That will work. The only thing you won't be able to use right away are gamer profiles & save games, which need to be re-hashed and re-signed (with your consoles cpu key) using a tool like Horizon, 360Revolution, etc. All other protections are effectively ignored by the RGH patched NAND, so disc verification and running unsigned code is not an issue.

This would also be the best time to restore original Xbox emulator/partition if you wish to play old Xbox titles.

Thats amazing .

That horizon software is what ive been looking for .

How about taking the internal hdd ( falcon) with games on it , take the sata drive out and connect it to horizon , and then modifiy the serial as well as the cpu locked files to be compatible with the other hacked console ?

Can horizon do that ? or even HDD hacker for the serial part?

Horizon cannot change the serial number written to the HDD. As far as I'm aware, the serial is encrypted by the console, so a simple dump/hex edit won't suffice.

Check this out for an idea of what one guy went through to get his Seagate drive working. I think it's safe to say that it would be easiest and best to perform a backup, format the drive in the new Xbox, and restore.

I see , anyways , everything will clear up when i get all the material in hand.

I also noticed that once i connected the dvd drive, those random FSD/XEXmenu/ game exits to NXE that i was experiencing were gone .( or maybe not yet )

Could it be that the drive status instability was causing those problems ? or is it still external HDD problem ?

I'm not sure about this, but you should leave the DVD drive connected and test it (play a DVD game disc). If it doesn't kick you back to dash after a while, try playing a game installed on the HDD. If everything is good, it was the disconnected DVD drive. If your box still freezes, you have another issue (possibly southbridge or cpu/gpu/xcgpu).

Also, disconnect any other storage devices from the console's USB ports. There could be a conflict between them.

Until now i have encountered 2 freezes besides kicking back to the nxe dash , i don't know about the other components but am i guess i'll get a RROD if any of those is defective .

It would be really helpful if someone could point out the right temps to avoid a reflow related RROD , my current GPU temp is 52 at idle ,55 after an hour of gaming ( resonance of fate ) .
