BENQ Should I allow dash update then reflash?

I've been away from the scene for a while so forgive me please! I've got a 2009 Jasper with a Benq drive. I believe the last firmware I applied was iXtreme 1.6. I appreciate there have been a lot of updates since this so bear with me.

I don't have my original stock firmware available anymore so should I allow my system to apply a recent dashboard update, which from what I understand will return it to stock (if so which dashboard update it best?) and then flash to the latest firmware?

I have no desire to go on xbox live on this xbox in the future so I don't mind if i'm banned, I just want the easiest solution really to play games such as f12011 and Fifa 12 when it comes out.

I've got a CK3 Probe (v2 I believe).

BenQ - no need to probe -download the latest LT FW pack.....it has the stock fw in there.....flash to stock...do the update...then reflash with the latest CFW

A friend of mine is in the same situation but he has a liteon drive. Would the same apply?

Do you you mean you don't have the stock FW or you don't have your DVD key?

I'm thinking I need to invest in a probe3?

Not the benq - he said his friend has a lite-on.

And you should regardless of anything else, return all drives to stock before updating.

so flash both to stock
Update to the newest dashboard. via live or usb
Re-flash with 1.91.

probe 3 needed for liteon or convert your old probe

LT+ 1.92 is for slims only for your phat you need LT+ 1.91

Have you got a a liteon slim ?? There is no LT+ 1.92 for the benq or liteon phat slim yes hope this helps

Thanks, yeah its a phat drive so looks like I need 1.91. Glad I asked
