Should I be worried about this manufacture date? 11-03-2005

Today I bought an Xbox360 at my local Target. I checked the back and it has a manufacture date of 11-03-2005. The box appeared unopened but some of the parts did not have tape on the bags they were in. I was suprised by such an early date.

Comments?

It has a Hitachi drive.

I would definitely return it right now. 2005 had the most defective 360's, and seeing this one is already a previous return, it could've been a defective/refurb very easily. Get a 360 anywhere and it'll be manufactured around end of 06/early 07.

That's what I was thinking, but was also concerned about getting one with a new drive that cannot have it's FW upgraded.

there are still plenty of sammy's and flashable hitachi's floatin around.

plus, those newer models will be hacked eventually. So its definitely safer in the long run to go for a new one.

it was returned by someone else if its that old. Return it and go to like gamestop or eb they ususally have the most up to date ones. Cause thats all they sell is video games.

I took it back and exchanged it. This time I got one date April 2006. Better, but not as new as I had hoped for. It does appear to be brand new and unopened. Think this one is ok?

with one made in april of 06 your likly to get a samsung ms25 or a hitachi 47 so keep it.
