I have a Falcon v3. PHAT, installed CoolRunner and Nand-X.
5 dumps of nand, all compare w/out exceptions.
Programmed CoolRunner and created .ecc.

have dash 13604

i want the new dash. should i update the dash before i write new .ecc or after? will my stock nand change w/ update(will i need to do more dumps?)? will i have to make a new .ecc after update?

to recap
Falcon v3, coolrunner, nand-x v.3, PHAT, stock dash V.13604
nands all compare and check out in 360-flash-tool.
Created but not written new .ecc.

If i want the new dash should i update (via. XBLive) before or after writing RGH .ecc?

I always update before reading the Nand, as the LDV value changes with every update.

if you update, you will need to read the nand again

Update, read nand, flash coolrunner, generate .ecc, flash .ecc, Boot xell, get cpu key, create new dash with multibuilder to include dashlaunch (this has the correct files for 14699) and then put both the nandflash and xenon.elf onto a usb and boot it while in xell.

Forgot to say, unplug 360 when done and wait at least 30 seconds.

I followed some of the above guide which is good.

thanks for the quick reply.

When you say "update" you do mean that i can just log into XBL and accept the M$ update right?

i came back to add the XBL-M$ question when i saw your response.

thx again. ill get to it as soon as im sure that the XBL update wont be a problem. havent overwritten anything from stock yet, just installed hardware but im still unsure.

----edit----
ive already flashed my coolrunner with the most recent files for my MOBO. do i need to do this again after update?

things have come a long way from the days when all i needed was a custom Splinter Cell and/or Mechassault gamesave. good ole softmods. RIP U.I.X

i read this b4 posting. however i wasn't sure if this update method applied to my situation (still unsure) as i have yet to overwrite any M$ files.

however while we are on the subject have the "usual places" changed since the early days of Xb1 modding?

for the record i am NOT asking for any gps here i just want to know if said undisclosed / mythological places had been myth'd to a different (fictional of course) place. yes/no

---edit---

All i really need to know is whether or not being in the situation stated in my original post exempts me from using the standard XBLive update process to update to the newest 14699 dash. keeping in mind that with the exception of the cool runner and nand-x qsb for phat nand reads that i have a stock 360. no unsigned code / software, stock .ecc & nand, virgin dash 13604

If your that worried about it. Download the update from M$ and put it on a usb stick.

But don't forget, you go on live once you've altered your nand. That's it. Say goodbye to live.

If you have not altered your nand yet. Do what do. Unsolder the 3.3v wire.

As for mythalogical places. I ain't got a clue what your on about.

If you update through ms you'll need to redump your nand cause the ldv changes. Just take your dump get cpukey and make the latest dashboard through multibuilder that's it.

Wouldn't the NAND file created with multi builder 0.7 update the dash to 2.0.14699.0 for you?

DONT do it.

your drive will get nuked with the new dae.bin

Instead do this,

do the RGH with the 13604 dash
build the hackimage of 14699 using the 13604 using multibuilder 0.7.
then use the usb drive to update to the latest update to fix your avatars (its a known issue that if you build your 14699 image using a 13604 nand your avatars get screwed)

mine is now working fine with all the updates and 14699 and still plays all backups for lt 2.0

good luck

What if the current dash version on the xbox was 2.0.9199.0, would it still be advisable to let multi builder do the update? or manually update to 13604 before proceeding to RGH?

my xbox allready had the silent dae bin. But once I had glitched it wasn't a problem anymore so don't think getting the silent update makes any difference. Games were not booting on lt 2.0 before the glitch but all good now.

so using the 14699 nand (updating dash first) to build a new .ecc would give me a dae.bin.
but using my 13604 nand to build .ecc and fixing the avatar prob w/ usb update method would avoid this?

am i understanding this correctly?

Thx for all the support, you guys rock.
