SAMSUNG MS25 Should I update?

I just flashed my friend's xbox. his driver was Samsung TS-H943 MS25 and his dashboard is 2.0.8955.0.

I wanted to test it so I run Skyrium on it. A message poped up saying that I should run the update on the disc. Is it alright to do that? Or is there a safer way to do so?

No it is not safe.

Flash the drive back to stock and then update to the newest dashboard. Then reflash the console with lt 2.01. Then if the discs asks fora title update that's ok but you are a few dashboards. Behind and that is what it is asking you to update. Fortunately the Sammy's don't do ap 2.5 checks so you will have no issue playing skyrim. But keep it off live to be safe.

Thanks mate, but do you know where can I find a tutorial that would show me how to flash it back to stock? All I see here are flashing from stock to something else.

I can't get it to go into vendor mode at all. when I click on " Intro / device ID " it asks me to do this ( 1st picture ), and when I do that nothing happens!! ( 2nd picture ). Do you know why is that happening? I am really stuck mate ....:frown:

It was spoofed as a lite-on? did you try the sammy unlock?

if it's spoofed as a liteon you will have trouble updating , or even getting ap2.5 games to play...even originals

Yeah I tried the trouble shooting guide. It didn't work !!

It can play all the 2.5AP backup games thought. Do you have any thoughts on that ?

if it is deffo a sammy drive then its been spoofed as a liton and in my experience the only way ya gonna get that puppy to update is by puttin a liton 7 in with stock firmware as that is what it will be looking for when it updates.my advice to you mate is buy a liteon 7 drive cus ya not gonna get anywhere with a spoofed drive these day especially on xbox live
