Hi,

Only had my chipped box a few days it came to me with 1959 bios and is working just fine, should I up it to the 3294? What benefits will it give me?

I was always taught "if it aint broke dont fix it"!

Thank you.

I was always taught "if it's broke fix it". lol

you could read the change logs for the bios's and see what bugs and extras have been added.

If you screw up the flash the xbox will not boot. :)

Test your backup bank. (hold eject and power buttons to turn on the xbox) If that works then, have no fear! Backup bios can't be written over by flashbios so it will always be the ace up your sleeve.

Thanks for tip, I rebooted to backup the X when a sort of purple colour but just got a black screen.

I assume that means no backup bios is installed? So do a put the latest bios on or the cromwell as teh backup?

Try best out of 3? It doesn't always work unless you got the right touch sometimes.. even if it does light up purple.. thats what I noticed for me.. lol. I got a bad touch.

Other than that, reflash backup bios with 3.0.3 from X3CL, it might be a 1.6b not reading flashbios 3.0.1.

No still cant boot, I'm 99% sure this is a 1.6b so I'll flash the backup to 3.0.3 and see what happens.

To to this do I put the 3.0.3 on HD then boot up into my 1959 bios then navigate to Flash Backup ROM, then select the 3.0.3 from the HD save to 1+2+3+4 and watch it go.

backup bios update to 3.0.3
Main bio updated to 3294

All went very smoothly, my tip to anyone having problems is just read the tutorials then read them again and time your time.
