Computer freezes when starting jungle flasher

I have a benq drive connected to a VIA pci card with a connectivity kit powering it. I deleted the VIA drivers, rebooted, went to start up jungle flasher but after a few seconds it locks up the computer and the program never opens. JF opened before I had connected the 360 drive to the computer. I have the LT 1.1 framework in the folder. I have .NET framework 2.0 sp2. I am running Windows XP. What am I doing wrong here?

in some cases it can be the slot the PCI is fitted, try another one if you have another spare!

Re: Computer freezes when starting jungle flasher

well, heres an update. I tried it on another machine and i got to the point where i tried to read the drive in JF then the computer would freeze up every time. so after reading for alternatives to JF I decided to use dosflash and firmtool. I used the read function to get my orig.bin, then erased the drive, then used firmtool to create the file to put LT 1.1 on my benq. it seems to have worked ok... is there anything wrong with this method?

I've had trouble getting a successful backup to play yet, but I think it may be my dvd burners fault because its really old and dusty haha. I have a brand new one Im going to install and try tomorrow morning. My 360 still plays originals but i tried a wave 6 backup and it wouldnt play, just would say "open tray" after spinning.

if anyone has anymore insight for me id appreciate it! thanks!

edit: also, just in case anyone asks im using XBC for burning. I have verbatim dvds.

Re: Computer freezes when starting jungle flasher

Good news! :D It ended up being my burner. I was using an old dusty one that had been in my computer about 3-4 years. Put in my new (not really new, mfg'd in 2007, Pioneer 112d) undusty burner. It didn't make any noise while burning like my old one. Didn't take forever to finalize the disc. Put it in my 360 and it booted up no problem! It's a wave 6 backup as well.

So for people having issues with JF freezing, don't be afraid to try dosflash and firmtool to flash your drive! :D
