signed up to xbox live and now says i cant get on becouse of modifications

my chip lets me turn it on and off, i have doom 3 and signed up to xboxlive last night and was playing online, came to use it today and i cant and get the error message your xbox hardware or software has been modified please contact xbox support.

i cant figure this out the chip is meant to let u play online as normal if deactivated and using an origional game which i am. anyone got any ideas.

o_0 odd... really odd... what BIOS you using? Any newer X2 BIOSes would prevent you from being able to connect to xbox live even if the chip was on. Also, the d0 point might be a little iffy. The d0 point is the point that needs to be grounded to tell the xbox to look at the LPC for the BIOS, instead of the onboard BIOS.

ah right sorry i read it wrong my bad, im not sure what chip it is it loads as xecuter 2 but ive been told its just the bios that, one guy reckoned it was an alladin chip

Prolly doesnt matter man...if the chip was on, and you turned it off before signing in, you're screwed. or if you modded anything else.maybe the HD or something, that could also probably hav something to do with your box being banned. Sux

I had the same problem.I thought that xbl may check your saves.Not 100% sure they are dated,but it would be easy to check .

Your eeprom has been read as changed by xbl therefore you are banned for life whilst using it. Own 2 xboxes, one for live, one for cool sh*t.

k i heard all post and seems like there no luck to anyone receiving that msg. well perhaps there could be a way around is there? also by eeprom what do u mean? can i just reformat my hd and get it back to it's original state? neways this is my story i added to my 8gig stock hd a xmc and after i did i try it out and it work fine, after that i played online to play xbox live. then i went to sleep and the next day i wanted to login to xbox live i received the message that my software of hardware was modified. so now this brings me to same question i ask above can i just format hd and then login to xbox live, what would buying another xbox do that would change me being able to play online? k that's enough i ask to many questions i hope that i get some decent answers as i still wondering how i got where i'm at.

Its all in the BIOS, believe me anyone who has read this forum for atleast 2 months know all the crap I went through. You can go onto live with the chip enabled IF and ONLY IF it is flashed with MS BIOS, and you are running them, they don't scan LPC. They only check BIOS. So if you booted your chip, and were running an alt bios, then went onto live then yeah your banned. Simple as that.

Ok, thats good to know, If you try to log into Xbox live with a modded bios you will be banned. Heres my question, are you banned for life? Why am I getting the felling you will say yes? This little tidbit of information should be somewhere important if it isnt already.

No you can get unbanned. New EEPROM and harddrive.

... ok im confused, so what you mean by new eeprom, is 1) removed the eeprom from the Xbox mobo (were talking original not mod). 2) a new mobo. 3) do you mean the Bios flashed on the Mod chip or the bios that is standard in the Xbox? Also I was reading somewhere that Xbox Live is now checking HDD sizes aswell. Honestly I dont think I will be taking mine online, however this is good information to know.

If you get banned you can buy an eeprom from some people over at XS Forums for about $10, flash your onboard eeprom with that eeprom using Config Magic. Then if you got banned under a gamertag, and want to use that tag again. You need an default xbox hard drive $20 at llamma. But if you are willing to make a new gamertag, then you don't need a default size hard drive, any new lockable hard drive will work. They only scan size if a gamer that was linked to an eeprom, that was banned from live is signed back onto live

also, as long as u NEVER logged ono live...u can put any size HDD in it u want, then log onto live & your good....

example:
just got home from EB w/ your new xbox.... open it up, take the stock HDD out, put a 200gig in(make sure its locked)...then log onto XBL...they will know no diffrent...

BUT: if u have a stock xbox, sign up for XBL & log on....then take your stock HDD out and put a new one in, then log onto XBL again.....SAY ELLO TO MY LITTLE FRIEND(banhammer)

Yeah it seems the moast sound advice that iv read so far is just to have 2 Xboxs if you want to mod and use XBL. From what I have read it seems that it is possible but you better be damn carefull, and if you screw up just once your banned. From there if you dont want to buy a second box you have some serious work to do.
