signed up to xbox live and now says i cant get on becouse of modifications

Yeah it seems the moast sound advice that iv read so far is just to have 2 Xboxs if you want to mod and use XBL. From what I have read it seems that it is possible but you better be damn carefull, and if you screw up just once your banned. From there if you dont want to buy a second box you have some serious work to do.

All u gotta do is know what ur doing & u'll be fine....
i use XBL everyday, and i have had a modded xbox for like a year and a half now.....

X3 chip, 200gig HDD, pretty much everything modded...
and its pretty hard to get banned w/ an X3 chip....all u gotta do it hold the power button about 1.5 seconds and it boots like a normal, un-modded xbox..... as long as u don't do corny ass game hacking and have the saves, your fine....

So is there any safe way to change your DVD drive/HDD after signing on to XBL or would you have to buy a whole new xbox and do all of those modifications first?

Sorry bud, you'll get banned. But DVD-Drive will have no effect, its only Mobo's and HDD's. After a ban, you still may be able to get yourself back on Live with a new EEProm, but Sonicvana is the man to ask about that stuff, I believe he did it.
