I've had these 2 xbox's for awhile since my man Sweetbrett did them for me in MD. (Thanks Bro)
Anyway, I always made sure that the chips were off, but recently 1..2..I've been banned on both. Now I never keep my XBL account on the xbox HDD. I keep them on a memory card, and I always make sure that I boot into the modchip without an internet connection. Also, as a further measure I make sure when I boot with the modchip off, I goto settings and make sure Auto log-in is disabled and I make sure I hit network settings and try to connect to ensure the XBL servers can even be reached.
Well one day on my 1.6 w/X3 installed I copied the Maps and other downloads from my other xbox to it via xbox to xbox connection. Well, I couldn't play System Link so I tried to see if the xbox connections were working by trouble shooting and Whalla!!! I see the message My xbox software/hardware was modified. So the xbox was banned...
I went ahead using the X2.6CE v1.1 xbox and it worked fine, but then about 2 weeks ago, It also got a message that it was banned. I had some issues wit sound and video sometimes not comming on and stuff, and I rebuilt the xbox and checked the setting, but it still got banned. Is there something more to banning where I could have made a mistake since the HDD was actually missing the dash update since it was rebuilt with a Slayers Disk? I'm just figuring since I downloaded maps and content from XBL that it updated my dashboard and then I went back and formated and installed an older version of the MS dash and XBL picked that up on the xbox...
Any ideas are welcome so I don't screw that up on the new HDD and EEprom I'm installing.
Thanks, and sorry for the ramble
