This has probably been answered 100 times already so please forgive me...
Got a modded 360 2nd hand, don't know which drive/flash etc. Also have the Kreon and have been making backups with it everything works great. Recently, I've been checking out the playback of .wmv hd files and wanted to play back some other file types. (H264, MPEG4) Currently, they will not play in my system. I did some searching this morning and found that I need the "spring 2007 update" from xbox.com I have read lots of horror stories about this update bricking drives and generally screwing you over. My plan was to download the update on to a disk and then load it but I want to make sure I'm not setting myself up for disaster.
I guess my question is this: Is it safe to load the spring 2007 update ona modded console. I don't play on Xbox Live so there is no worries about being banned etc. Just want to make sure I'll still be up and running.
